We can't be agile if we can't move together." -Tracy Russ, SVP, Civic Leadership Strategy & Impact Robinson Center for Civic Leadership, Foundation for the Carolinas

At a recent Agility Together: Preparing for Convergent Headwinds session, nonprofit leaders gathered for a conversation about the challenges facing our communities and how we can respond together.

Led by Tracy Russ, the discussion explored how policy changes, economic uncertainty and declining social connection are affecting the nonprofit sector and the people it serves.

While the challenges are real, the conversation also highlighted what continues to move our community forward: collaboration, resilience, advocacy and a shared commitment to helping one another.

Every year, SEED20 shines a spotlight on ten local nonprofit leaders who are tackling our region's biggest challenges with bold, innovative ideas. Could your organization be next?

Whether you're launching a new nonprofit, growing an emerging organization, or introducing a new program within an established nonprofit, the yearlong SEED20 program is designed to help you strengthen your impact while sharing your story with the Charlotte community.

Applications for the SEED20 Class of 2027 will be open from September 1 – 21, 2026. Sad news to share: Longtime friend to Foundation for the Carolinas, Bill Williamson (Bill Will to friends) recently passed away at the age of 95. A financial leader, community advocate, Charlotte cheerleader and, among other things, talented golfer, Bill Will's passion and influence helped shaped Charlotte throughout the 20th (and into the 21st) Century.

As one of the Foundation's first board members -- and a longtime investment committee member who continued to serve into his 90s -- few folks have had as longtime impact or influence on FFTC as Bill Will. Our condolences go out to his friends and family and all who knew and loved Bill.

Lexington Area Community Foundation Grant

Projects must serve the residents of the Lexington area and Davidson County, NC. Grants will be awarded to benefit a broad range of charitable purposes. Investment areas include:

• Arts and Culture
• Education (Including Early Childhood School Readiness)
• Workforce Development
• Human Services

Completed applications must be submitted by Friday, August 28.

Following storm damage to Roof Above's Day Services Center, Foundation for the Carolinas and our fundholders came together to help support recovery efforts, demonstrating the power of philanthropy to respond when it matters most.

Together, more than $100,000 (and counting) in grants have been directed to Roof Above to support recovery efforts and help ensure uninterrupted services for individuals experiencing homelessness across the Charlotte region.

Thank you to everyone who helped transform an urgent need into meaningful action!
