🎾 Okay, so… we have an idea.

(Shocking, we know. 😆)

The problem? This particular idea requires tennis balls. Preferably old ones that are collecting dust in garages, closets, gym bags, or baskets.

If you’ve got some to spare, we’d love to give them a second life! Drop them in the collection bin by the door at Innovation Barn and help us bring another creative project to life.

What are we making? You’ll have to stay tuned. 👀

🌞 June camps are almost here… and this is your friendly reminder that summer sneaks up FAST 👀

At Innovation Barn, kids ages 5–12 spend their summer building robots, creating upcycled projects, exploring ecology, solving real-world challenges, and getting hands-on with STEM and sustainability in ways they’ll actually remember. 🌱🤖

Not your average summer camp. Not your average “look what I made!” moment either 😌✨

What starts as a box of old t-shirts can turn into something so much bigger 🥳

During Earth Month, the team at hosted a t-shirt drive at their Blythewood manufacturing facility in South Carolina, and this weekend, those donations made their way to Innovation Barn!

Now, those shirts get a second life:
🐾 Turned into pet beds for shelter dogs
🎶 Transformed into sound panels
🧵 Repurposed into creative sustainability projects instead of ending up in a landfill

It’s one of our favorite reminders that sustainability doesn’t always have to start with something new. Sometimes it starts with what we already have, and a community willing to reimagine it.

Huge thank you to Chrissy, the Husqvarna team, and everyone who donated. We can’t wait to show you what these become 💚

Friendly reminder from the Barn 🌱

We still do NOT accept No. 5 plastics 🙃

Recently, we’ve had bags of No. 5 plastics being dropped off directly next to the very large sign explaining we no longer take them… which honestly feels a little personal 😅

Due to contamination and limited recycling markets, this program became unsustainable. When recycling can’t be done properly, it doesn’t work at all.

Please help us keep the Barn running smoothly by NOT leaving No. 5 plastics at our drop-off area.

💡 Instead:
• reduce single-use plastics
• reuse what you already have
• recycle correctly and keep items clean

This month’s theme is all about Outdoor & Sports Gear! Clear out the garage, swap outgrown equipment, and score some “new-to-you” finds for your summer adventures. 🌿✨

Bring usable outdoor or sports gear to swap and help keep good stuff in circulation instead of heading to the landfill. From camping gear and bikes to sports equipment and outdoor accessories, you never know what treasures you’ll find 👀
