June is National & Awareness Month.

When Emily Venanzi was diagnosed with metastatic ALK+ lung cancer in 2017, years of scientific discovery had already paved the way for targeted therapies that changed the course of her disease.

Today, Emily is helping drive the next generation of progress. As an advocate, scientist, and supporter of Break Through Cancer's PoweRD 2 Cure ALK+ Lung Cancer TeamLab, she and along with her husband, Patrick, are working to accelerate research for patients facing ALK+ lung cancer.

That was how Break Through Cancer President Tyler Jacks, described the recent progress in KRAS-targeted therapies for pancreatic cancer to Carolyn Johnson of The Washington Post.

This weekend at , that momentum was on full display as Brian Wolpin presented Revolution Medicines Phase 3 daraxonrasib results to a standing ovation.

For decades, pancreatic cancer has remained one of the most difficult cancers to treat. These results represent an important milestone for patients and families, and for the scientists, clinicians, and trial participants who helped make them possible.

The work is far from finished. As excitement builds, researchers are already focused on the next questions: how to achieve more durable responses and understand resistance to help further improve outcomes for patients—questions at the heart of our collaborative daraxonrasib study with Revolution Medicines, which is designed to understand not just whether this therapy works, but how and why it works in patients.

An experimental pill has shown unprecedented success in treating pancreatic cancer, upending conventional wisdom about the disease.

This week, members of the Accelerating Therapies Through Serial Biopsies TeamLab are gathering in person to dive into the data from their ongoing study.

Across two days, researchers will layout data from clinical outcomes and blood-based biomarkers to tumor evolution, immune response, spatial biology, and metabolomics. Data that will shape the next wave of publications to move these insights into the community.

• Early intervention before AML can develop in high-risk groups

• Targeting measurable residual disease (MRD) – cells that drive relapse

Through both addressing AML at its most minimal state and early intervention and these efforts aim to reduce relapse for patients and work towards a future with AML prevention.

Scientists are studying the earliest precancerous changes in the fallopian tubes, looking for signals that could help identify cancer before it spreads, opening the door to earlier intervention and better outcomes.

At Break Through Cancer, we are proud to be joining Revolution Medicines and the The Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Research in supporting our Conquering KRAS in Pancreatic Cancer TeamLab, which is performing highly innovative clinical studies with Daraxonrasib. These studies are design to learn deeply in patients by integrating data from pre-, on-, and post-treatment samples to provide a complete picture of the drug’s effects. We believe that this research will critically inform the next generation of treatment strategies.
