Greetings Friends and Neighbors!
After an enjoyable morning planting daffodils with the Charlestown Nursery School on April 17th and a small community gathering to plant (2) new trees on May 3rd with Todd Mistor (Director of Urban Forestry), we are officially into Spring/Summer 2025. Please be aware that the (2) new trees need some loving care (watering) so if you are an abutting neighbor and you can occasionally bring a full watering can, please do.
Today, I met with Joe Shafner from Offshoots, Inc to discuss the upcoming planting and fence remediation work at JHM coming in the next couple of weeks. He and his associate Mark did some troubleshooting with the sprinkler system and repaired the drip hoses at several locations at the beds and got the 2 zone system started up on its summer schedule. Offshoots will repair and replace the planting bed fencing as needed and add some planting and transplant others both at the beds and the (4) planter urns.
The new bronze donor plaque is at "proof development" phase and will be reviewed soon so that fabrication can begin for installation later this summer. Our thanks to all the generous contributors who were able to donate.
Enjoy your summer!
