Another hello and goodbye. Goodbye and thank you to Thomas and his wife, Rebekkah, for helping us out the past few weeks preparing the meals for our clients. We are so grateful that you stepped in to help us out. And a huge hello to Tay, our new cook, who started last week. We wish her the best and welcome to the MOW family.

Once again today one of our wonderful volunteer drivers went over and above the duty of delivering a meal. Upon arriving at the client's house, the driver discovered the client had fallen. Fortunately, the client was not hurt and did not require EMT's to respond. The driver stayed until a relative arrived. Thank you so much for doing what you did today.

I am sad to report that another one of our wonderful volunteers took a fall and had to have surgery. We are praying for a full and complete recovery and hoping that once healed, they will be able to come back and continue to be part of our wonderful organization.

Over the past few weeks, several of our volunteers have experienced some health issues from surgeries, to broken bones and other issues. We are praying for all of them to have a complete and speedy recovery and can't wait to have them back.

A huge shout out and thank you to Betty, a volunteer packer on Fridays, for her donation of sugar free cookies for our diabetic clients. Your kindness and generosity is much appreciated as well as all you do for us as a volunteer. Kudos.

Summer is officially over this evening and fall begins. Once again, thank you to all our volunteers who faithfully served our organization this summer through the heat, humidity, and sometimes deluges. No one ever complained and we are grateful for your service. Enjoy the cooler days that will be coming.

Meals on Wheels is still looking for a Kitchen Manager/Chef to prepare the meals for our clients. Hours are either 5:00 am to 10:00 am or 6:00 am to 11:00 am Monday thru Friday. Please call the office at 304-725-1601 between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm for further details. Thank you.

It's hard to believe it will be 25 years since 911. I'm sure most of the people who read our posts remember exactly what they were doing that day. I remember how crystal clear and blue the sky was that morning. We must never forget that day and hope and pray we never have to live through something like that again.
