Are you depending on coffee to get through the busy holiday week ahead?

Well, the Ugandan family you're about to meet relies on coffee for their very livelihood. Gertrude Babirye is the single-mother of COU sponsored student, Daphine Namugenyi. The family was chosen over 2 years ago to participate in our FASTrack partnership program, which provides holistic care and income generating activity (IGA) investments.

Gertrude decided to establish a coffee growing project knowing that trade in the area performed well and could produce long-term yields. Gertrude also owns the land where her project is being established, which can sustain the family for generations to come.

Thanks to Gertrude's FASTrack partner, she received 120 coffee seedlings, a backpack sprayer, manure, herbicides and pesticides. To improve the family's hygiene, we also aided in the construction of a pit latrine.

With healthy, abundant plants - she is now in a position to harvest and turn a profit. She is so grateful to Children of Uganda for the life-changing education and empowerment support.

The transformation you see here would not have been possible without the continued generosity and support of friends like you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

This , you can help grow twice as many tomatoes!

That's right, all gifts to Children of Uganda are now being matched dollar-for-dollar up to $6,000! So, your gift of $50 will really be worth $100 - for a limited time only.

Your support today will help families like Catherine’s (pictured here). Her mother, Beatjuma, is a farmer and beneficiary of our FASTrack partnership program. With investments made in her tomato growing business, she has been able to hire labor to increase yields and generate sufficient income to meet her family’s basic needs.

Additionally, Beatjuma diversified her income streams by investing money in charcoal and has also acquired nine goats to supplement her crop farming. And because Catherine's education is sponsored by Children of Uganda, she can invest even more money into her businesses.

Catherine and Beatjuma are very grateful to Children of Uganda for transforming their family's life and giving them hope for the future.

Right now is the best time to give! Double your impact this Giving Tuesday with an investment that can create generational wealth for vulnerable families in Uganda:

With just a day away, we wanted to bring you a Children of Uganda success story involving turkeys! That's right...

Peter Kagwa is a visually impaired student who joined COU back in 2002. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Peter took it upon himself to buy 50 turkeys with his very own savings. He fed them by hand and raised the turkeys until he could resell them for a profit. This helped his family during the pandemic and provided some pocket money for when school reopened.

With support from his sponsor, Peter recently graduated from New Living Hope Training Center Of The Blind where he gained valuable skills in cooking, basketry, shoe making and other handicrafts.

Peter is a hardworking and disciplined young man who has never let his disability hold him back. His hope for the future is to start-up a shoemaking business.

Children of Uganda proudly honors our wonderful friends at The Georgetown Presbyterian Church with our Lifetime Legacy Award.

A few years after Children of Uganda inception, this amazing church and it's fellowship became partners with COU. The contributions they have provided over the years are beyond measure - hosting our Tour of Light tours at their church, welcoming COU members to their weekly services, coordinating mission trips to Uganda, as well as providing major gifts and sponsorship to some of our beloved students.

We are forever grateful to our GPC family and are honored to introduce you to Susan Bell and Pat Davies - members of the GPC Missions Committee.
