National Nanny Recognition Week is not just for employers and children to recognize their nanny, but is also supposed to serve as a time where nannies can recognize each other. Comment on this post and write a kudos or thankful message about another nanny you’ve had the privilege of working with.

Happy September!

Did you know that National Nanny Recognition Week is coming up the 21st to the 27th of this month? Tis true! http://ncpan.org/national-nanny-recognition-week

National Nanny Recognition Week isn't the same as an appreciation week. It is a chance for employers and nannies to show our relationships to one another in a positive light: employers are asked to boast loudly about the benefits they get from having a nanny and highlight the unexpected good parts of nannies as childcare, and nannies are asked to loudly recognize good childcare from fellows in our field.

But what about gifts for us? If it is only done privately while parents pretend to the outside world that we don't exist, then we stay invisible. This week is for being visible. Being seen. Being remembered. Being noticed.

As part of that, there are playdates and nanny nights out and online activities to take part in to further this goal. Check out the calendar at the bottom of this page and we hope to see you there! http://ncpan.org/national-nanny-recognition-week
