ICAN

ICAN is a free, family-centered youth service in the East Valley. Specifically, 8 out of 10 youth people in the areas we serve are living in extreme poverty.

ICAN’s (http://www.icanaz.org) mission is to provide access to out-of-school time opportunities that empower all youth and their families to pursue what is most meaningful to them. We provide a full complement of programs proven effective in equipping youth to achieve personal and academic success by tackling substance abuse, gang involvement and juvenile delinquency. Four of those children will g

o to be hungry at night and eight will be using drugs or alcohol to cope with the harsh realities they face. Joining gangs becomes a more viable choice than graduation in the community we serve. This is not an option for ICAN. We exist to combat these issues and build strong futures for them and for our community.

As ICAN continues to grow, we’re investing in the systems that help make our mission possible.

We’re excited to share that Aaron Harris, ICAN’s current Chief Financial Officer, will expand his role to become Chief Financial & Technology Officer (CFTO).

This change reflects an intentional step toward strengthening how ICAN uses technology to support our staff and build greater capacity for our mission. With a background in Computer Information Systems and years of leadership at ICAN, Aaron is uniquely positioned to guide this work.

Rooted in ICAN’s core value of Blaze Trails, this work is not about chasing the latest trend. It’s about giving our team better tools so more of their time can stay focused on what matters most: supporting youth and families.

We’re grateful to have Aaron’s trusted leadership guiding this next chapter as ICAN continues building a strong foundation for the future.
