Our team recently received this video from Eduard Safronov Ed Safronoff a participant in our Austrian Healing Base Camp in 2024 who returned to our Ukrainian Healing Base Camp last year as a mentor family.

Eduard’s healing journey didn’t end when he left Healing Base Camp, it was just getting started. He continues his own healing by supporting others like him, paying it forward in the most meaningful ways. Ed has remained a close connection to Mountain Seed Foundation and put together this video to share his experiences and transformation. He never gave up. He got back up, and keeps reaching out to other veterans to lift them up alongside him.

Thank you Eduard, for sharing your story, for making this video, and for the work you are doing to bring hope to so many Ukrainian veterans and their families.

🏔 Two months out!

Last summer, families gathered in the Austrian Alps for two week-long Healing Base Camp programs consisting of climbing, connection, and renewal. It is a transformative week where families rebuild strength and hope as a family unit.

This summer, we will be back to do it again and we can't wait to return! Learn more about this program and our work at mountainseedfoundation.org

The mountains aren't just a backdrop — they're part of the therapeutic framework.

Research consistently demonstrates that nature cultivates awe: a sense of connection to something far greater than ourselves. For individuals and families navigating prolonged stress and uncertainty, nature also provides what psychologists call anchoring, the grounding comfort of knowing that some things remain constant, no matter what.

Our Healing Base Camp program integrates this science into practice. Through time in nature, climbing, and Positive Psychology-based group psychoeducational programs, we help veterans, former POWs, gold star spouses, military spouses, and their children rebuild resilience and hope as a family unit.

"Climb to Heal" documents this work and the real impact it has on the families we serve. We invite you to watch and learn more about our mission:

Viktor Frankl's words remind us that growth is possible even in the most difficult circumstances. This belief guides every program we offer.

We help veterans, former POWs, gold star spouses, military spouses, and their children heal as a unit through nature-based experiences, climbing, and Positive Psychology-rooted psychoeducational modules.

Our approach is built on the understanding that when families heal together, the impact truly lasts and enables families to rebuild.

Your support helps families affected by war access the tools they need to rebuild strength, resilience, and hope. Visit mountainseedfoundation.org to learn more.

At a recent Mini Base Camp, Yulia came to her art therapy session carrying something many Ukrainians know well — restless nights, ongoing worry, and the invisible weight of always being on alert.

Through a guided creative exercise focused on emotional expression and stress relief, she worked through her feelings and created a final composition she titled "Lying peacefully in a meadow, surrounded by grass, and looking up at a calm night sky."

Her artwork revealed a core need for safety and rest. Mini Base Camp gave her space to feel both.

This is the work at the heart of our programs: meeting each family member where they are and supporting their individual needs as well as their healing as a family unit.

This moment says it all.

Watching Tetiana speak about what Healing Base Camp meant to her reminds us exactly why our work matters.

We are beyond moved to share that our Road to Resilience matching campaign has come to a close and reached far beyond our expectations. We started with a $5,000 goal, which was surpassed before we even reached the halfway point. We raised our goal to $10,000, and while we finished just shy at $9,275, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for this support.

The MSF team was blown away to receive an additional gift of $20,000 from one supporter, bringing our May total to $29,275! Our matching partner, MSCG, was so touched by this outpouring of support that they pledged to match it all, bringing our grand total to $58,550!

The moments of families reconnecting, making new memories together, getting the support they need to move forward, and rediscovering their own strength exist because of you.

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared a post, sent an encouraging word, or simply believed this work was worth supporting. You are part of this healing and part of this journey toward hope.

Tonight the Road to Resilience matching campaign closes. This is the last opportunity to double your impact.

Every dollar donated today is still matched by MSCG up to $10,000. That means every gift made before midnight goes twice as far toward healing programs for veterans, military families, and communities in Ukraine still living with the trauma of war.

Over the past month we have been humbled by the generosity of this community. Donors who gave because they believe that healing people rebuilds communities. Supporters who shared because they know that sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is spread a message that matters.

If you have been considering giving, today is your last window to have your gift matched. We would love to close this campaign strong by meeting our collective $20,000 goal.

Thank you for your support this month. And thank you in advance for every gift that still comes in today!

5 days left. Don't let this opportunity pass!

Our Road to Resilience matching campaign ends May 31. Every dollar donated between now and then is still being matched by our partner MSCG, up to $10,000.

That means five more days to give a family living under the weight of war the chance to heal. Five more days to double your impact. Five more days for a veteran and their children to find their way back to hope, resilience, and joy.

We are so close! And the families waiting on the other side of your gift are worth every last push.

If you've been meaning to give, today is the day. If you've already given please share this with someone who might be moved by this work.
