Adoption updates are our favorite!

Vincent, the handsome gelding we rescued on New Year’s Eve, is loving his life in the mountains with his new herd. Here you can see him in the middle, very back of this first photo! He has three gelding friends and three minis. Now that he’s had his dental the vet estimates him closer to late twenties than late teens!

Thank you Karen for adopting this sweet boy in his golden years. Senior horses are incredible and deserve the best retirement! 🐴✨

This precious lil’ nugget is still seeking a forever home!

Cassidy is an estimated between 7-8mos grade filly who is ready for her new life to start with a herd and friends all her own. She is fully weaned, stands for the farrier, trailer loads, (with cookies) and obsessed with scritches. 🐴

Message us today to learn more about becoming her forever family! ✨

Not 100% the day we had planned, but that’s to be expected when you work with horses!

Nora & Ducky were wonderful for their dentals, quite proud of those ladies.

The good news is we were able to get Enva haltered and sedated to do an exam. X-rays were completed and nothing was found! Everything is clear in her noggin as best as the vet could see and we are so relieved. On the other hand, it is recommended to have her blind eye removed at some point in the near future as the third eyelid is dangerously sticking out.

Even though she was sedated, any sudden movement or unexpected touch had Enva jumping still. The vet was able to examine her mouth and while Enva does need a float, it’s not extremely dire based on the other circumstances surrounding this mare.

After chatting with our vet Dr. Platt we agreed the best course of action was to spend the next 45-60 days working on haltering training and more trust building before we attempt a float, the farrier, and especially the eye surgery. So unless anything changes drastically in the “Enva is in pain now” department, which she isn’t, we will keep working on training first. This is for the safety of Enva herself, but also the wonderful care team around her.

Long day, grateful for volunteers and wellness professionals. Grateful these three mares are thriving. Grateful to you all for continuing to follow CAWS 💕🐴

Big day for Enva today. Feet, teeth, and head X-rays/tests. We are all working on our breathing, send good vibes 💕

✨ We are all SO excited to share another forever home announcement! ✨

Despite being blind, Ducky has told us she is up for anything and nothing will stop her from “being a real horse”. So we’ve partnered up with in Montana to help Ducky achieve all that she can and more.

LES Haven Ranch is a blind horse sanctuary with a extra special place in their hearts for those horses that are born blind. At LES Haven, Ducky will be joining a herd of other blind horses, learning how to train under saddle, and participate in therapies across the board. We cannot WAIT to see her shine!

Duck Duck 🦆🦆, you will be so incredibly missed by the CAWS family but we are so thrilled for you. 💕

Ducky and Jessi will be hitting the road on June 22nd for the trip up to St. Ignatius, MT. If you’d like to help cover our gas bills with donations or gas cards we’d love the support!
