Good morning CAWS fam, we have been asked to help find a soft landing for these two severely neglected geldings. They have a chance to grab a ride up from Texas next week, but need a dedicated home.

Any thoughts? Leads? Let’s see if we can help. 💔

UPDATE! ALL 3 BLANKETS DONATED!
Our amazing friend Kristin offered to purchase all three girls exactly what they needed to stay warm. Thank you SO MUCH!!! 💜💜

❄ Winter is Coming! ❄

And we are in need of a couple more smaller blankets for two of our mares and one of our jennies. We've been so lucky to receive a handful of blanket donations, but they are in storage until our massive draft horse rescue days 😂

Grace needs a 76-78"
Sasha needs a 58 - 62"
Mia needs a 58 - 62"

Here are two great deals we've found online if you are interested in shopping and shipping, but we're also up for anything used of course! These Texas transplants will be very grateful for the extra toasty layers this winter.

✨ Charlie Update! ✨

It’s been just shy of two months since Charlie moved to his foster home up in Bailey. He lives with our friends Meril and Chelsea, who also have our boy Biscuit! Here’s what Meril had to say:

“It has been so fun to see Charlie’s personality come out more and more every day! I think he kinda forgot how to be a horse and letting him have the time, space and friends to come out of his shell has been so fun to watch! He now knickers at me in the morning for his breakfast and I can’t wait to see how much more he comes to life when he’s ready! Even though he’s unsure about some things he’s always the perfect gentleman!”

In the video you can see him kicking up his heels with Biscuit and resident gelding Sly. Love when a herd just works!

Friends, we’re worried about our girl. Seeking some other pain management options while at the same time focusing on her quality of life above all else. I’ve got a call with an animal communicator friend tomorrow to check in 🫏💔

💜 Elena Update 💜

They say donkeys are one of the most stoic mammals in the animal kingdom, and boy is it true. Our girl is bearing more weight each day, but is it because of the cloud boot? The pain management increase? Or sheer willpower to outlive us all?

Attached are her X-rays. Keep in mind, this is just her front right hoof. Her other three legs are just as twisted and confusing. Our farrier Amy will be examining her again tomorrow because that last photo… 💔💔
