Pups Assisting Warriors to Succeed (P.A.W.S.) "Two Heroes Rescuing Each Other"

was founded to fill the immense void in PTSD treatment for veterans through the use of custom trained service dogs, trained from a veteran's perspective.

We at PAWS are devastated that one of our service dogs had an untimely passing earlier this week from cancer. Sarge was the definition of a perfect match for his person and sadly at under 4 years old and with only 2 years with his person, his journey has ended.

Our founder wrote this song in their honor. We are asking for donations in their honor for the future. When the time is right, we may need to supply a successor dog but in the mean time it’s all about providing support, well wishes, and prayers in this tough time.

🐾 WE NEED PUPPY RAISERS! 🇺🇸
ConnorsK9-PAWS is looking for dedicated members of our community willing to take on a very special mission: helping raise the next generation of service dogs for veterans in need.
Being a puppy raiser means opening your home and your heart to a future service dog during one of the most important stages of their life. You’ll help provide structure, socialization, basic manners, real-world experiences, and—most importantly—a loving home while they prepare for advanced service dog training.
At the end of their journey, these dogs will be partnered with veterans who need them. Your job may be temporary, but the impact you make can last a lifetime.
Yes, giving them up will be hard. But you won’t simply be saying goodbye to a puppy—you’ll be handing a veteran a new teammate, greater independence, companionship, and potentially a new beginning.
We need people willing to answer that call. Could that be you?

In December of last year, a veteran approached us in need of a service animal and our friends at the Scheffel-Anderson Charitable Family Fund immediately said yes and sponsored this veteran service dog team. We searched for the right pup and found her at the Humane Society of Fremont County. This is where the story of PAWS Luna began.

8 months later, thanks to the incredible effort of her veteran, this service dog team passed their final certification, Public Access, today. Congratulations to Jaime and Luna!

💜 NATIONAL PURPLE HEART DAY 💜
Today, ConnorsK9-PAWS pauses to honor the courageous men and women who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation.
The Purple Heart represents far more than a medal. It represents courage, sacrifice, resilience, and a commitment to something greater than oneself.
As an organization dedicated to serving our veteran community, we recognize that the sacrifices of military service do not always end when the uniform comes off. We remain committed to standing beside our veterans, honoring their service, and ensuring they know they are never forgotten.
To every Purple Heart recipient, to the families who have stood beside them, and to those whose sacrifice can never be repaid:
We honor you. We remember you. We thank you. 🇺🇸💜
