Heartwarming Story: A tiny surprise with a happy ending. 🌺
Since last week, the ‘humm’ has been “you wont believe what came in through donations today!“. While unloading a vehicle, hidden behind a donation bag, staff discovered a small hummingbird. It was barely moving. Once swooped up, there was a faint movement….it was still alive.
Everyone jumped into action, a bowl with sugar water, taken inside to warm up, a small dropper to help it feed. Thanks to the quick action and gentle care, she lifted her head and began to drink. Later that day she was released into a backyard oasis.
We are always proud of our volunteers and staff who lead with compassion, no matter how small the life. 💙

Thanks to our community of donors and our great volunteer team, our thrift store has a media department full of treasures from vinyl, CDs, DVDs and VHS to instruments and gaming supplies, to meet your needs.

They help us transform gently loved donate items into affordable merchandise that is sold in our store. 👗The proceeds fuel Help & Hope Center's client programs providing emergency assistance to Douglas and Elbert County residents who need help.
