We help fund special projects like Legacy Trail and Possibilities Playground.

The Gambel Oak, Cottonwood, Sarvicebery, a few Aspens and other deciduous trees are doing their thing in Castle Rock! Lost Canyon Ranch Open Space is the newest way to immerse yourself in the colors!
This is Gobbler’s Pass to Golden Eagle Loop.
Pro Tip: plan your route so the sun is generally in front of you, so the light shines through the leaves, showing the gorgeous hues in their full glory!
If you go: Remember this property has a wildlife conservation easement, so there are no dogs or bikes allowed.

With guidance from the Denver Astronomical Society, we are sorry to say we need to cancel the event at Lost Canyon for Saturday 10/10.

Unfortunately, the forecast hasn’t changed since yesterday and cloud cover at 88% is far beyond the 50% or less cloud cover the DAS volunteers need to run a successful Astronomy event. As we know clear, stable skies are essential, and the weather forecast calls for too many clouds.

Heads up! Philip S. Miller Park and Ridgeline Open Space will be closed to the public for The Castle Rock Trail Festival on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Find more info at crgov.com

The Castle Rock Trail Festival returns Saturday, Oct. 3. To accommodate the event, the Town will close trails at Philip S. Miller Park and Ridgeline Open Space from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Looking for another trail to explore? For single-track biking, try Memmen Ridge or Metzler Family open spaces. For hiking, check out the Town’s newest open space, Lost Canyon Ranch.
