This month we observe National Cancer Survivors Month. Too many of our warrior children and their families have been touched by this insidious disease and have bravely faced it with courage and faith in their hearts. According to the American Association of Cancer Research “Thanks to cancer research, there are currently more than 18.6 million people living with a history of cancer in the United States.” We’re so grateful when we get to see our families come through to the other side of this battle and support them as they receive the care they need to move forward. This month we honor the survivors, as well as the caregivers, researchers, clinicians, advocates, and communities working to improve survivorship outcomes.

Pictured are a few of our warrior children who have survived cancer and are now thriving!

Recently, we were honored to celebrate the graduation of 20 incredible students from the Mitchell Thorp Foundation Youth Leadership Council Servant Leadership Program!

Each student shared heartfelt reflections on how the program helped shape them, strengthen their confidence, and prepare them to carry out the lessons of servant leadership into their future. Hearing them speak about the impact of the program, and the ways they are committed to leading with compassion, purpose, and service, was truly inspiring.

These young leaders reminded us that hope grows when we invest in the next generation.

Together, we are building future leaders who lead with heart. 💙

At just 2 years old, Amariah's life changed forever when she was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2025.

Instead of spending her days simply playing, learning, and growing, Amariah now faces a long road of treatment that will continue for the next two and a half years. Through it all, her mom has remained by her side every step of the way.

As a single mother, the emotional and financial challenges have been overwhelming. Between medical appointments, treatments, and daily living expenses, the burden continues to grow. Now, an unexpected obstacle has added even more stress to their journey. The family's vehicle, which is essential for getting Amariah to her treatments and appointments, requires critical repairs totaling approximately $7,800.

The Mitchell Thorp Foundation has proudly kicked off Amariah's campaign with initial support, but we cannot reach the finish line alone.

We are asking our community to come together and help give this family hope during one of the most difficult seasons of their lives.

Every dollar makes a difference. Every share helps spread awareness. Every act of kindness reminds this family they are not alone.

Will you help us support Amariah and her mom today?

👉 Donate here: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/amariah/

Thank you for helping us ease the burden and give this family the strength to focus on what matters most, Amariah's healing.

💛 Meet Emanuel, a brave child recently diagnosed with leukemia.

When a child is fighting for their life, everything changes in an instant. Emanuel’s family was referred to Mitchell Thorp Foundation by Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, after the weight of this diagnosis turned their world upside down.

As Emanuel begins treatment, his father has had to cut back on work to be by his side, creating a painful loss of income during an already overwhelming time. No family should have to choose between caring for their child and keeping the lights on.

Because of the generosity of compassionate donors like you, Mitchell Thorp Foundation is able to step in through our Medical and Home Assistance Program to help relieve some of the financial burden, so Emanuel’s family can focus on what matters most, his healing.

Families facing life-threatening illnesses need hope, support, and a community that shows up when life feels impossible.

Please consider making a donation of any amount, to help families like Emanuel during their hardest moments. 💙

Sometimes the biggest smiles come during the hardest battles.

The Ortega Family recently stopped by the Mitchell Thorp Foundation office to meet our team and sweet Caisley, who is bravely fighting a DIPG brain tumor, to which there is no cure.

During their visit, we were honored to gift Caisley a Hope Basket filled with love, along with toys for her and her brothers. Seeing Caisley smile was a moment we will never forget.

Just as meaningful was seeing the relief on Mom and Dad’s faces. In the middle of hospital visits, uncertainty, and unimaginable challenges, knowing they are supported meant the world to them. Their gratitude was heartfelt and humbling.

To help ease the burden, Mitchell Thorp Foundation was also able to provide the Ortega family with a $1,000 gift to help cover gas and food expenses as they travel back and forth to the hospital for Caisley’s care.

Families like Caisley’s should never have to face this journey alone.

Will you help us give hope to another family in crisis? Your support provides real relief, comfort, and care when it is needed most.

This past weekend, we had the special pleasure of honoring the LCYO Champion players with their Mitchell Thorp Awards. The players and their buddies work together on the fundamentals of baseball but most importantly, having fun playing the game our Mitchell loved so much. Congratulations to everyone involved!
