Your tee time can make a difference.

Join us October 12 at Fairbanks Ranch Country Club for Par for a Purpose, an unforgettable day of golf, friendly competition, great food, prizes, and plenty of fun, all in support of the children and families we serve.
There’s plenty happening beyond the golf! Check out TrackMan, take a Rivian for a test drive, recharge in the Recovery Zone, enter for a chance to win a trip from Travel + Leisure, and cap off the day at our Oktoberfest-inspired after-party.
But the best part of the day is the impact you’ll make.
Every swing helps provide meaningful, practical support for families whose children are battling cancer, rare diseases, and critical medical conditions. From transportation to treatment and groceries to housing, medical equipment, and household expenses, your day on the course helps families manage the very real challenges that come with caring for a critically ill child.

Singles and foursomes are available, but space is limited. Grab your spot and golf for something greater!

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 💛

But behind every gold ribbon is a child, a family, and a journey that extends far beyond a diagnosis.

When a child is battling cancer, the entire family feels the impact. Parents may miss work to stay by their child’s side. Treatment can mean countless hospital visits or traveling far from home. Medical expenses grow, while everyday needs like groceries, childcare, housing, and household bills don’t stop.

At the Mitchell Thorp Foundation, we step in during these critical moments with financial, emotional, and resource support. We help ease some of the burdens families carry so they can focus on what matters most: their child.

Throughout September, we’ll share more about the realities families face, the courageous children who inspire us, and the meaningful difference our community can make when we come together.

Because awareness matters. And when awareness leads to compassion and action, families are reminded they do not have to walk this journey alone.

Together, we can Give Families Hope. 💛

The Champions of Impact Tournament certainly lived up to its name! ⛳️💙

The foundation had the honor of being the beneficiary of the Champions of Impact Golf Tournament. Nearly 100 golfers joined us at Admiral Baker Golf Course for an incredible day on the course, all in support of the children and families we serve.

Every round played, sponsorship, donation and opportunity drawing ticket helped raise critical funds to provide needed resources and support to families whose children are battling cancer, rare diseases and other critical medical conditions.

And while the mission was at the heart of the day, there was no shortage of fun! Competitive golf, an intense putting contest, plenty of on-course antics and some seriously impressive prizes made for an unforgettable day.

We simply could not have done it without the incredible generosity of our sponsors, vendors, volunteers, donors, and golfers who made this event such a success. Thank you for giving your time, resources, and support and for helping us make a meaningful impact for children who are fighting for their tomorrows.

We’re already looking forward to next year 💙⛳️

Celebrating Generosity, Community & Hope!

The Mitchell Thorp Foundation was honored to be the beneficiary of the Travel + Leisure Softball Tournament this past Thursday. We are incredibly grateful to have been part of such an amazing event surrounded by an organization and team with such generous and giving hearts. Collectively they raised $30,000 dollars.

A special highlight of the day was when our Co-Founders, Brad and Beth Thorp, presented Brandon Wilson, SVP, Sales & Marketing, with the Mitchell Thorp Foundation Pillars of Hope Award. 🏆💙

The Pillars of Hope Award honors individuals who are true pillars in their communities—those who go above and beyond to raise awareness, inspire others, and generate meaningful support for the Mitchell Thorp Foundation and the families we serve.

Brandon, thank you for your incredible leadership, generosity, and commitment to making a difference. Your support helps us provide hope and assistance to families whose children are battling cancer, rare diseases, and other critical medical conditions.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Travel + Leisure, for your generosity and for helping make a difference in the life of a child and their family. Your support reminds us of the incredible impact we can make when we come together.

Together, we give hope. Together, we make a difference.

We are thrilled to welcome our new YLC facilitator, Dominique Marinello, Ed.D. Dominique holds a Doctor of Education in Mind, Brain, and Teaching from Johns Hopkins University and brings a passion for empowering the next generation of leaders.

This year, we are proud to have students representing 10 different high schools across our community!

Through the YLC, students develop essential Servant Leadership skills, including communication, collaboration, empathy, teamwork, and leading with purpose. Our first gathering was all about getting to know one another, building connections, and learning how to communicate as a team, all while having a little fun!

We’re excited for an incredible year of growth, leadership, service, and impact. We can’t wait to see what this amazing group of young leaders accomplishes together!

The future of leadership starts with serving others.

💛 This Is What Community Looks Like

At just 2 years old, Amariah is battling leukemia. Her days should be filled with play and discovery, but instead, she and her mom are navigating treatments, doctor appointments, and the uncertainty that comes with a childhood cancer diagnosis.

Then another challenge came. After being involved in a car accident, Amariah’s mom was left without reliable transportation and had to depend on public transportation to get her little girl to important medical appointments.

But their community showed up. ❤️

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Amariah’s supporters, donations to her fundraising page helped cover the cost of repairing their car.

Now, her mom can safely and reliably drive Amariah to her doctor appointments and treatments without the added stress of relying on public transportation.

This is what the community looks like.

To every person who donated, shared Amariah’s story, and surrounded this family with love, thank you. Your kindness helped lift a very real burden from a mom who is doing everything she can to care for her little girl.

And to all of our Mitchell Thorp Foundation donors, thank you for continuing to help us give families hope when they need it most.

💛 Help us be there for the next family facing a medical crisis: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/mitchellthorpfoundation

P.S. When a family is facing the unimaginable, even one burden lifted can make a world of difference. Thank you for helping families like Amariah’s keep moving forward.

Meet Adam 💛

At just 10 years old, Adam is facing something no child should have to face. He has been diagnosed with leukemia and is currently undergoing intensive treatment, a journey expected to continue through 2029.

Adam and his family were referred to the Mitchell Thorp Foundation by Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Along with the emotional weight of his diagnosis and treatment, his family has been struggling to make ends meet.

One of their urgent needs was help with their car, a necessity for getting Adam to treatment, appointments, and the care he needs.

Because of our generous donors, we were able to step in and help. ❤️
This is what the community looks like.

It looks like showing up when a family is overwhelmed. It looks like easing one burden so parents can focus more of their energy on their child. And it looks like reminding families like Adam’s that they do not have to walk this road alone.

To every donor who makes this support possible, thank you. Your generosity is giving families hope when they need it most.

Together, we can continue showing up for children like Adam and the families fighting alongside them.

MEET GABRIELLA: A BRAVE 4-YEAR-OLD WHO NEEDS OUR COMMUNITY

At just 4 years old, Gabriella is facing something no child should have to endure.

Diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma, Gabriella and her family were referred to the Mitchell Thorp Foundation by Rady Children’s Hospital. After recently relapsing, she is now receiving proton therapy as she continues her courageous fight.

For this young family of five, the emotional and financial weight is overwhelming. Gabriella’s mom needs to remain by her side while also caring for her two other children. With everyday bills continuing to arrive, making ends meet has become incredibly difficult.

Thanks to the compassion of our generous donors, Mitchell Thorp Foundation was able to come alongside Gabriella’s family through our Medical & Home Assistance Program, helping ease some of the financial burden so they can focus on what matters most, their family.

Gabriella now has a fundraising page, and every gift, no matter the size, can help carry this family through this difficult season.

💛 Help give Gabriella and her family hope: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/gabriela/

Please keep Gabriella and her family in your thoughts and share her story with others who may want to help.

P.S. Your generosity reminds families like Gabriella’s that they do not have to face the hardest days alone.
