Sometimes the biggest smiles come during the hardest battles.

The Ortega Family recently stopped by the Mitchell Thorp Foundation office to meet our team and sweet Caisley, who is bravely fighting a DIPG brain tumor, to which there is no cure.

During their visit, we were honored to gift Caisley a Hope Basket filled with love, along with toys for her and her brothers. Seeing Caisley smile was a moment we will never forget.

Just as meaningful was seeing the relief on Mom and Dad’s faces. In the middle of hospital visits, uncertainty, and unimaginable challenges, knowing they are supported meant the world to them. Their gratitude was heartfelt and humbling.

To help ease the burden, Mitchell Thorp Foundation was also able to provide the Ortega family with a $1,000 gift to help cover gas and food expenses as they travel back and forth to the hospital for Caisley’s care.

Families like Caisley’s should never have to face this journey alone.

Will you help us give hope to another family in crisis? Your support provides real relief, comfort, and care when it is needed most.

💛 Brain Tumor Awareness Month

What would you do if your child’s laughter was suddenly replaced with hospital visits, uncertainty, and fear?

This is the reality for families facing pediatric brain tumors, one of the leading causes of cancer-related death in children. Behind every diagnosis is a child with dreams, a family holding on to hope, and a journey no one ever expects to take.

At Mitchell Thorp Foundation, we walk alongside these families in their darkest moments. From financial relief to emotional support, we help carry the weight so parents can focus on what matters most, their child’s healing.

This month, we honor the strength of every child battling a brain tumor and the resilience of the families who refuse to give up. Their courage inspires us every single day.

You have the power to make a difference. Your support brings comfort, stability, and hope when it is needed most.

Will you stand with these families and help us give hope?

P.S. Every act of kindness, big or small, reminds a family they are not alone. Thank you for being part of that hope.

Ania is a bright and joyful 3-year-old currently fighting Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). She is receiving treatment at Rady Children’s Hospital and continues to face the challenges of ongoing care with incredible strength.

Ania lives with her parents, and her family has been experiencing financial strain while navigating her diagnosis and frequent medical appointments. At this time, the family is in need of assistance with everyday expenses such as rent, food, and gas for travel to and from the hospital.

Despite everything she is going through, Ania still finds happiness in the things she loves most, including Disney princesses, painting, animals, and trips to the zoo.

Through our Medical and Home Assistance Program, we have been able to support Ania and her family, but continued help is needed. Every donation, big or small, helps ease the burden and allows this family to focus on what matters most: Ania’s health and healing.
