Opportunities for artists are everywhere — but knowing how to navigate them can make all the difference.

Join us for the next session in Campana Studios’ Artist Business Development Workshop Series, led by curator, educator and arts administrator Alessandra Moctezuma .

This workshop offers practical insight into how curators and selection panels evaluate artist materials, what strengthens an application, and how artists can better position themselves for exhibitions, grants, and public art opportunities. The session will also cover navigating RFQs and RFPs, along with best practices for working professionally with institutions.

Whether you’re applying for exhibitions, residencies, or public art projects, this session is designed to help artists approach opportunities with greater clarity and confidence.

Announcing the next session in our Artist Business Development Workshop Series — Writing for Artists.

This practical workshop is designed for visual artists who want to write more clearly and confidently about their work — from artist statements and bios to grants and professional opportunities.

Led by curator, writer, and educator Elizabeth Rooklidge, this session focuses on clarity, intention, and adaptable writing strategies you can use across multiple contexts. You’ll leave with a stronger framework and tools to make writing about your work more manageable and effective.

Whether you’re refining an existing statement or starting from scratch, this workshop will help you communicate your ideas with greater precision and impact.

A well-maintained portfolio is an essential tool for submissions, presentations, and professional opportunities — especially when others ask to see your work in a more focused way.

As a general guideline, prioritize work from the last one to two years that reflects your current direction, materials, and ideas. Older work doesn’t need to disappear entirely, especially on your website, but it should be limited and intentional.

From our recent Studio Foundations workshop. Follow along to stay up to date on upcoming workshop dates and artist business development programs.

We’re excited to kick off our new Artist Business Development Workshop Series with our first workshop, Studio Foundations!

Studio Foundations: Operating a Professional Art Practice is a no-charge workshop designed for visual artists who want a clearer understanding of what it takes to operate at a professional level.

We’ll focus on the systems, tools, and standards that support sustainable art practices, and talk openly about what working artists actually do behind the scenes.

Whether you’re emerging and looking for clarity, or already active and ready to strengthen how you show up professionally, this session offers practical guidance you can apply right away.
