🌊 What a day at Surf Away! Our Adapt members hit the water this week for a day of sunshine, salt air, and pure stoke.

Volunteers, boards, and big smiles filled the beach from morning to afternoon. 🏄☀️ Whether it was someone’s first wave or their fifth Surf Away, the energy never let up.

Join us for a community workshop on the Portable Neuromodulation Stimulator (PoNS), a non-surgical device that uses electrical stimulation through the tongue to activate new pathways to the brain, supporting gait and balance for members navigating MS. 🧠

Dr. Revere Kinkel of UCSD will be joining to talk through medical decision making, helping members think through new technologies and treatment options alongside their care teams. We’ll also hear from the Bioness clinical team on how PoNS works and what the research shows.

Yesterday, four from our Adapt team took to the course for the Tyler’s Tribe Golf Tournament. Steve and Jagade from our team teed off alongside members Sam and Kevin, all playing to rally behind Tyler and support our ALS community ⛳️

Sheryl and Sam kept the energy going from the sidelines all day, cheering on every hole.

Let’s rewind a few weeks to one of our favorite days of the summer: Our Adapt BBQ! ☀️🍔

Co****le, giant Jenga, a DJ spinning tunes, friendship bracelet making, and (of course) plenty of great food. Our gym floor turned into a full-on community party, and it was so good to see members, families, and partners all in one place!

Meet Lauren, Adapt’s newest Adaptive Specialist ✨

Lauren has spent more than 15 years working with people navigating spinal cord injury, stroke, cerebral palsy, TBI and MS, in both clinical and in-home settings. She holds degrees in Kinesiology and Human Services, plus certifications through ACE and the CHEK Institute, and has helped over 1,000 people build programs that fuel long-term health.

From August 10 to August 31, members can add a Functional Movement session with Lauren at 50% off. New clients can also book a 50-minute Align session with her at 50% off, all month. Openings are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with Monday also available. Give us a call to reserve your spot 💪

Starting Thursday, July 23, Lisa will be offering Reiki sessions every Thursday here at Adapt.

Reiki is a gentle, hands-on practice that can help with:
🌿 Deep relaxation
🌿 Reduced stress and tension
🌿 Emotional balance
🌿 A greater sense of peace and well-being

It’s one more way to support your overall wellness journey alongside your regular movement practice.

Our Summer BBQ and Adaptive Showcase is coming up on July 18, and we’re looking for local businesses and community organizations to join us!
