Lou Gehrig Day was a home run 🎉

Our team had the privilege of showing up alongside our ALS community at not one but two games — first with the Padres and , then with the Angels and .

And in the middle of it all, our friend threw the first pitch at the game. Sam had been practicing right here in the gym with Jake just days before — and watching that moment happen reminded us exactly why we do this work.

What a meaningful way to mark progress in our community and bring awareness to ALS.

DJ has a T5 spinal cord injury. For years, he thought the only way to activate the muscles below his injury level was through a surgically implanted device.

He didn't want surgery. So he trained with us instead. The Neubie was a game changer.

The Neubie uses direct electrical stimulation to recruit core and trunk muscles that DJ can't fire on his own — giving him the foundation he needs to compete in adaptive surfing. Stronger core. Better posture. More power on the water. 🏄

Join us for our first ALS Workshop at Adapt 💙

This evening is designed for individuals living with ALS, caregivers, clinicians, and anyone interested in neurological wellness, support systems, and quality of life. Together with our partners at UC San Diego Health, we’re creating a space for education, conversation, and community connection.

We’re honored to welcome Robin Dunlay, RN and ALS Care Coordinator for the UCSD ALS Clinic, alongside Master Reiki Therapist Lisa Friedman for a special sound therapy experience focused on relaxation, grounding, and restoration.

At Adapt, we believe movement, support, and community belong to everyone — and these workshops are built to bring people together through shared experience and practical resources.

A final round of applause for our incredible San Marcos High School interns as they wrap up their time with us at Adapt! 🎉

This group has shown up with such energy, curiosity, and heart — from supporting our members on the gym floor to helping bring our community programs to life. Watching them grow over these past weeks has been one of the highlights of our season.

To all of our interns: we are so proud of everything you've accomplished here, and we're cheering you on as you head into finals week. Go crush those exams — you've got this! 📚✨
