It's That Time of Year, Watch For Deer:
+
•The Missouri State Highway Patrol is reminding everyone there is more deer activity this time of year.
•In a 10-14-26 press release, the MSHP reports they worked 2,829 deer-vehicle strikes statewide in 2025.
•Six people died and 435 people were injured in traffic crashes involving deer in 2025.
•While many deer/vehicle strikes happen in rural areas, in 2025 22.4-percent of the traffic crashes involving deer actually occurred in urban areas.
•The majority of deer strike crashes take place from October through December each year.

There is another story behind the poppy—the hands that make it.
For generations, Veterans have helped produce memorial poppies. The tradition has provided Veterans with meaningful activity, while the poppies themselves help generate support for Veterans, military personnel, and their families. In 1952 alone, nearly 9,700 disabled Veterans produced more than 26 million poppies for Auxiliary distribution.
When you hold a memorial poppy, remember: its story is about more than remembrance. It's also about purpose, dignity, and service.

🇺🇸 Today is American Legion Day! 🇺🇸
On September 16, 1919, Congress granted The American Legion its federal charter. Ninety years later, September 16, 2009, was designated “The American Legion Day” in recognition of the organization’s service to Veterans, military families, youth, and communities.
🌺 For the Poppy Promise, today is another opportunity to Remember • Honor • Inspire • Serve.
As Auxiliary members, we proudly stand beside our American Legion Family and carry forward the promise represented by the red poppy, honoring those who served and supporting our Veterans today.
Happy American Legion Day to our Legionnaires across Florida and beyond! 🇺🇸🌺
