Tonight the auxiliary and one Post member participated in the Southeast Missourian Su***de Awareness and Prevention Glow Walk at Jackson city Park. We placed 18 boots along the walking path to represent the number of veterans who commit su***de daily.

We are looking for classic cars, hot rods, cool off-road vehicles, motorcycles, boats or any unique vehicles to be displayed at the John J. Pershing VAMC VetFest on Saturday, September 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Did you know that an average of 17.5 veterans commit su***de daily? Read that again, 17.5 veterans commit su***de daily. Even though the statistic is down slightly from a few years ago, it’s still too many veterans who may not be getting the help they need. Join Post 3838 auxiliary tonight at Jackson Park, safety city shelter, to participate in su***de awareness, glow walk.

Two of this year’s Warrior Paddlers stopped in Cape yesterday. Randy and I had the privilege to take them to lunch, run them to Walmart, show them the VFW Lakes property, and the new pavilion at the Avenue flags. Early this morning we picked them up and drop them off at the boat ramp for them to start the next leg of their journey.

Members of VFW Post 3838 Auxiliary – Cape Girardeau and New Madrid County Memorial Post 7183 Auxiliary – Lilbourn each hosted a table today at the Annual Poker Walk at the Cape Girardeau Veterans Home! 🇺🇸

It was a great day of fun, fellowship, and spending time with our veterans. The veterans also had some great prize choices, adding even more fun and excitement to the day! 🎁

We are always grateful for opportunities to support our Veterans Home and bring a few extra smiles to those who have served our country.

A special thank you to Rosalie McGaugh and her team for organizing this wonderful event and making it such an enjoyable day for our veterans and everyone who participated! ❤️

10th Annual Avenue of Flag Tournament.
Every year the Auxiliary & Post help to organize and work at the AOF Golf Tournament. This is a huge event and we are honored to be a part of it.
