The final chore of the day is done!

Teams have been working all day to enhance preparedness and create a better chance at the most minimal damages possible to campus as the steady rain soaks the ground and rises the Pigeon.

The lake was very low and it would take a lot to fill it back up, so that is good news!

We are observing the river's new behaviors, and trying to remain calm as we face the normal anxiety of a time like this. We are staying in touch with the Lake Logan fire department and the town as new information becomes available.

Thank you, and ! 🌿

What a joy it was to host members of the Society of American Travel Writers for Writers on the Creek at Lake Logan! Thank you for spending time with and with us in the headwaters of the Pigeon River and in the Lake. We enjoyed getting our feet wet with you, literally, in exploring some of what makes Haywood County so special.

We can’t wait to read your stories. Come back and visit us anytime!

Because of the expected rainfall and chance of high winds as impacts of Hurricane Isaias on Haywood County and the surrounding area, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel this Saturday’s Dinner & Barn Dance with Boojum Cave Robbers (Saturday, October 10).

This was a fundraiser shared by Lake Logan and the Lake Logan Fire Department. Our Volunteer Work Weekend is also canceled.

We’re grateful to everyone who planned to join us to help prepare for the holiday season and to honor how far we've come in the last 2 years since Helene. We haven’t decided yet whether to reschedule the fundraiser this year, and we’ll share any updates here.

On Saturday, September 19th we were honored to have a dedicated group of Trailblazers past, present and curious coming home to Lake Logan.

During this time of honoring our history and investing in our future, we ate and laughed together, spent time thinking about the bounty of this campus, and connected with friends old and new.

Our staff across programs unified in hospitality, while day- and overnight guests chose their own adventure— from History & Ecology talks to time around the fire. We even talked Kudzu!

Thanks to the Bleynats and the Mouers for a very special gift to us all, a traditional bagpiper — Tynan Mallory — playing lakeside with the backdrop of the mountains once connected to Scotland in the times of Pangaea. Tynan indeed settled us into that special place of feeling close to the divine that we call a "thin space".

We wanted to take another moment to thank everyone who came, played, stayed, participated in the auction, and recognized the tremendous year of successes that we've had so far — built upon the foundation of the sustaining support of our Trailblazers!

Volunteer Work Weekend will soon be here! Have you registered yet?

This is a great way to enjoy all Lake Logan has to offer - recreation, lodging, meals, hiking, and more - while giving back!

Join us for a meaningful weekend of hands-on work and community as we build and prepare Lake Logan and Camp Henry for the upcoming season. We’re focusing on trail maintenance, campus beautification, and indoor/outdoor restoration projects suited for volunteers of all ages.

Whether you join us for a single day or stay for the entire weekend, all meals are provided, and evenings will feature shared moments around the campfire.

Flexible Participation: Come for one day or the full weekend.

All Ages Welcome: Project options range from active trail work to lighter indoor tasks.

100% Donation-Based: Lodging in our cabins and dorms is available on a pay-what-you-can basis. Suggested donation amounts are listed on the registration page to help cover lodging, equipment, and restoration materials.

Community Support: We encourage those who are able to consider adding an extra contribution to cover the cost for another volunteer. Financial barriers should never prevent anyone from participating.

Saturday night we welcome ALL to join us for the Barn Dance with the Boojum Cave Robbers, as we FUNdraise for Lake Logan and the Lake Logan Fire Department as well. More details online!

Tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day at Springdale Resort.
