July's MAT Business of the Month is Grateful Table! Celebrate this town staple by visiting them this Friday the 31st from 5-9pm

They'll be offering Live Music by James Alpine, serving a special menu til 8, and debuting some wonderful lightning bug photography.

About James Alpine
James Alpine is an Asheville, North Carolina based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist elucidating the harmony of the spheres in ways that feel both timeless and progressive. From his formative years in Athens, Georgia, playing in venues like the 40 Watt Club and Georgia Theatre, to eventually touring and traveling around the greater Southeast and American West, James has honed his authentic voice through playing with a diverse arrangement of groups ranging from Folk/Americana, to Grunge, Jam, and Hardcore/Punk. He will be bringing his hermetic blend of songwriting and soundscapes to the Grateful Table this month as part of the Mill Around Town series.

SAVE THE DATE!!! Announcing Haywood Grows Farm Fest 2026, a first-year event honoring western North Carolina farming traditions, with a special love for one of Appalachia’s most iconic crops — tomatoes. A joint venture between the Canton Merchant Partnership and Mill Town Farmers Market, the festival will showcase local and regional farmers, artisan handicrafts, Appalachian foods, live music, storytelling, games, participatory activities, and a strong sense of community pride — all in a family-friendly atmosphere. And it’s free to attend!

The celebration begins Saturday, August 1 at 10am in Sorrells Park, Downtown Canton. There’s plenty of opportunities for you to get in on the action so be sure to check out the Contest Info page. Maybe you’ve grown the most amazing tomato, or perhaps you fancy yourself an artist (or just a wannabe), or maybe you REALLY love to eat spaghetti, or maybe everyone tells you that you make the BEST tomato pie, either way we’ve got lots of fun ways for you to show your love of tomatoes!
