Mmm, peanut butter! Our CCP pantry was out of peanut butter but we're so lucky for some help from friends who picked up some for us. We'll get more with our September delivery from the Food Bank of Central New York but until then, Michelle Theisen kindly went shopping for us. Michelle works with young members of the Presbyterian Church Noisy Can Youth Mission team, who raise money for our pantry and get wishlist items. Thank you, everyone!

Wednesday, Aug. 26: Look what we have! Our friends at Gouverneur Correctional Facility and St. Lawrence County Jail dropped off big donations of beautiful local vegetables for Church & Community Program's food pantry. We have lots to share by the end of the week so please help yourself to this supply outside our shop at 30 Court St., Canton.

A huge thank you to Jeff Peters, owner of MVP in Potsdam! He supplied us with over 240 pairs of quality sneakers for our Back To School Program which served schools in Canton, Hermon-DeKalb and Edwards Knox! This was Jeff’s first year and he did an amazing job of finding unusual size sneakers as well as keeping track of the huge orders I had! It was a pleasure working with Jeff and getting to know the caring person he is! Thanks again Jeff! See you next year!

We can hear those school bells ringing! Thanks to a lot of good planning and hard work, 240 students at Canton, Hermon-DeKalb, and Edwards-Knox school districts will get a warm welcome on Saturday from Church & Community Program's Back to School program. Students receive school supplies customized to each class, a nice new backpack, a certificate for a fresh haicut and high-quality new sneakers along with assorted other items.
Thank you to CCP's Sneaker Guru Cheryl Glidden, school supply organizers Kelley Glascow and Michelle Filiatrault, and their volunteers for making this happen. Also, our deep thanks to all Back to School donors, and to Stewart's Shops for their Holiday Match award!

Thank you to our friends at Coakley Home and Hardware Canton and to Coakley's customers for your kind donation to Church & Community Program's food pantry. The harvest is beginning. Thank you to our friends at St. Lawrence County Jail for sharing fresh tasty vegetables grown in their garden. Our Church & Community Program food pantry received a variety of tomatoes and green bell peppers on Tuesday afternoon. Our 220 local families/500 people who receive food each month from us love this taste of summer!

Beautiful! Church & Community Program's food pantry is so lucky to be treated to TEN cases of beautiful fresh vegetables grown at Gouverneur Correctional Facility. What a wonderful taste of summer for the 220 local families who come to us for groceries each month. Thank you! We have plenty to give out and plenty to share, so please come to us Tuesday and Wednesday to get some veggies.
