Many survivors say the first time they saw the Power and Control Wheel, their experience finally had a name—and a pattern. It lays out common tactics abusers use (like isolation, intimidation, emotional abuse, and controlling money), showing that harm isn’t only physical.

This guide also shares how different versions of the Wheel have been created for different communities and situations, helping more people recognize what’s happening and realize they’re not alone. 💜

Abuse takes many forms, including emotional, physical, financial, digital and psychological and all are rooted in patterns of power and control.
By expanding our understanding of what abusive versus healthy relationships look/feel like, we can better support victims and create safer environments in our communities.

There’s going to be plenty to check out beyond the music at this year’s Rockin’ The River!

We’ll have more than 25 vendors joining us at the Massena Town Beach, featuring a great mix of local artisans, community organizations, informational booths and more throughout the event.

Take some time between bands to walk around, see what they have to offer and support the people and organizations that help make our community what it is.
