WHAT IS THE HOLDUP?!

Not a SINGLE application for this little angel, Hollis! 😭💔

Everyone was interested when I first posted her, and now… CRICKETS! 🦗🦗🦗 WHAT HAPPENED?!

Hollis is fully vetted, crate trained, house trained, and ready to find her forever family! She's around 5 years old, 25 lbs, and looking for someone to love her for the rest of her life. ❤️

🐾 What is Hollis looking for? A home with BULLDOG EXPERIENCE! Frenchies may be cute little clowns, but they come with their own quirks, and Hollis needs someone who understands the breed. She's shown some barrier aggression with other dogs, so slow introductions and a home without larger dogs would be best.

We know she's not going to be the right fit for every home, but HER PERSON HAS TO BE OUT THERE SOMEWHERE! She deserves to be more than just another Facebook post that gets likes and shares. She deserves a HOME! 🏡❤️

❤️ UPDATE ON JANE DOG! ❤️

It’s been 10 days since Jane Dog was hit by a car and brought to Prospect Veterinary Hospital, who so graciously cared for her when no one came for her. We are so grateful to them for giving her the care she needed! 🙏❤️

Jane is now officially in our care, and we’re ready to help her with the next chapter of her journey! 🐾

Of course, rescue never comes without expenses. Jane will need follow-up care, to be spayed, vaccinated, and possibly have a dental done in the future.

If you’re able to donate toward Jane’s care, we would be so incredibly grateful. Every dollar helps us give these dogs the second chance they deserve. ❤️

🐾 Let’s talk about Hollis!
🐾
Well, Hollis sure caused a stir when I posted her last week! 😬😂 I apparently managed to make a few of you pretty angry, so let’s clear up a few things before we get to the good stuff!

First, breeding dogs is not illegal (although sometimes we really wish it were, or at least properly regulated!).

Second, owning ultrasound equipment or performing artificial insemination isn’t automatically illegal either. Is backyard breeding a mess? ABSOLUTELY. 🙄

Here’s what we actually know about Hollis’s situation:

• Her previous owner (Hollis is her rescue name!) did not own any other dogs. She went to someone else to have Hollis bred. We have very limited information and do not know who that person was.

• Her owner sought veterinary care TWICE, as far as we know. Both times, Hollis was prescribed antibiotics for pyometra. Because veterinary care was sought, we cannot simply assume a crime was committed.

• Could her owner afford a $6,000–$8,000 emergency spay? Maybe not. Honestly, how many of us could pull that kind of money out of thin air?! 😳 But should Hollis have been taken to a regular vet for follow-up and spayed as soon as possible? YES. Do we think her owner fully understood how serious this was? We honestly don't think so.

We aren't here to argue with everyone on the internet. We're here to help the dogs who need us. ❤️ And now, let's talk about the happy part!

🎉 HOLLIS IS FULLY VETTED AND READY FOR HER FOREVER HOME! 🎉

🐶 Records indicate she's almost 5 years old.
🖤 Beautiful black coat with a few brindle markings.

⚖️ Around 25 lbs and at a good weight!

👃 Not quite as smooshed-faced as some of her Frenchie friends, which means she can breathe pretty well!

🏡 Crate trained AND house trained!

Now, the important stuff: Hollis has shown some barrier aggression toward other dogs. We've successfully introduced her to two females and one male around her size, and she's done well with them. We think she'd be happiest without larger dogs in her home, and slow, careful introductions are a must.

Hollis has been through enough. She deserves a home where she can be loved, spoiled, and never have to worry about what's coming next. No more breeding drama, no more medical uncertainty — just being somebody's beloved little dog. ❤️

Beau is a beloved 5½-year-old American Cocker Spaniel looking for the right home to call his own. 🐾
He loves playing fetch, sniffing around outside, and one of his favorite things is greeting you at the door with your slippers when you come home!

🥹 He is a loyal boy who forms a special bond with his person and would thrive in a quiet, single-person household with no other pets or children.

💔 WHERE IS KIMMY’S FOREVER FAMILY? 💔

Kimmy has been waiting for OVER A YEAR for someone to choose her. 🥺❤️

When Kimmy came to us, her puppies were scooped up and found homes right away. But somehow, sweet mama Kimmy has been left behind, waiting day after day in her foster home, hoping it will finally be her turn.

And let me tell you, Kimmy is a GREAT dog! She is sweet, loving, and so deserving of a family of her own. She has so much love to give, and it breaks our hearts that she has been waiting this long for someone to see just how special she is. 💕

Kimmy has done well with dogs in her foster home, but she would really love to be your ONE AND ONLY. No cats, and kids must be 12 or older.
She doesn't need a perfect family. She just needs someone willing to open their heart and give her the chance she's been waiting over a year for. Someone who will love her, spoil her, and finally let her know what it's like to be someone's first choice. 🏡❤️

🚨💔 MEET HOLLIS. 6 DAYS IN RESCUE, AND WE ARE ALREADY ANGRY FOR HER. 💔🚨

Hollis was surrendered to us just 6 days ago, and as we’ve started piecing together her history, we have uncovered a story that makes us sick.

We were able to obtain some of her veterinary records, and WHAT IN THE BACKYARD BREEDING IS GOING ON?! 🤬

According to the information we’ve gathered, Hollis was apparently artificially inseminated in April or May, not through a veterinary office. Ultrasounds were also reportedly performed outside of a veterinary setting.

First of all, STOP DOING THIS. IT’S GROSS. These are living, breathing animals, not breeding experiments!

But wait, there’s more. And this is where Hollis’s story gets heartbreaking.

📋 LET’S TALK ABOUT WHAT THE RECORDS SAY:

💔 LATE MAY: Hollis was brought to her veterinarian because her owner noticed discharge. The veterinarian performed an ultrasound and confirmed there were NO PUPPIES. Instead, Hollis had a PYOMETRA—a potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus.
The veterinarian recommended that Hollis be spayed. According to the doctor's notes, her owner reluctantly accepted antibiotics to treat the infection.

💔 JUNE: Fast-forward a few weeks, and Hollis was back in the emergency room because the discharge had returned. The day before, the backyard breeder had apparently performed another ultrasound and claimed Hollis had TWO puppies.

Except… the emergency veterinarian again confirmed NO PUPPIES.

What Hollis DID have was pyometra. Again.

The recommendation? SPAY HER IMMEDIATELY.

And now it's OCTOBER.

Let that sink in.

We cannot imagine what Hollis has been through, and we are still learning the full extent of her medical history. What we do know is that she deserved better. She deserved someone who put her health before the possibility of puppies. She deserved proper veterinary care, not repeated confusion and a potentially life-threatening condition left hanging over her.

This is the ugly side of backyard breeding that people don't want to talk about. Everyone wants the puppies, but who is there for the mom when things go wrong?

WE ARE. ❤️

Hollis is safe with us now, but rescue comes with a cost. Every dog who comes through our doors brings their own history, their own needs, and sometimes medical expenses we never could have anticipated.

Meet Brodie! 🐾

Brodie is a sweet, lovable mixed-breed boy who is approximately 2.5–3 years old and weighs around 77 pounds. He is currently a little overweight, but he loves to run, play, and get his zoomies out!

Brodie is a big cuddle bug and loves being around his people. He knows basic commands such as “sit” and “paw” and has made great progress with some of his manners as he has matured. He can still get overly excited and jump up, so he would do best with someone who is willing to continue working with him on training and polite greetings.

Brodie has not had much socialization with other dogs, so we believe he would likely be happiest as the only dog in the home. That said, we don’t know how he would respond to another dog with slow, careful introductions and proper training, so this would need to be evaluated on an individual basis.

He currently lives with a cat, but unfortunately, he loves to chase and “heckle” her, so a cat-free home would be best for everyone. Because of his size and tendency to get excited and jump, we also feel a home without young children or elderly individuals would be the safest and best fit for him.

Brodie would thrive in an active home where he can get plenty of exercise, play fetch, and enjoy his zoomies. A fenced-in yard would be ideal so he has a safe space to run and play. He is currently trained to an invisible fence.

Brodie is a goofy, affectionate boy with a lot of love to give. He would do best with someone who understands that he still has some manners to work on but is willing to give him the structure, exercise, training, and patience he needs to continue becoming the best version of himself. ❤️🐶

🚨 MILLIE NEEDS OUR HELP 🚨

Meet Millie. 💔 This sweet girl was recently pulled from a local shelter, and it didn’t take long to realize just how much she has been through.

Her history appears to be one of being used for breeding and severely neglected. She is in heartbreaking physical condition and has clearly been through far more than any dog should ever have to endure.

And despite everything… look at that face. ❤️ She is still so happy to be loved.

Millie’s medical list is already a long one:

🩺 A severe UTI

🩺 A growth coming from her v***a that will require surgery

🩺 Bilateral eye entropion (this is when the eye lid rolls inwards causing eyelashes to rub against the cornea causing discomfort)

🩺 She is overbred and her body shows the toll of repeated breeding

🩺 She is significantly overweight and needs help getting healthy

🩺 Breathing concerns that need to be addressed

🩺 And sadly, someone even subjected her to an extreme ear crop in an attempt to make her look “tough.”

Millie was treated like she was only valuable for producing puppies. Now it's our turn to show her that her value is so much more than that. She deserves to know what it feels like to be comfortable, cared for, spoiled, and loved simply because she is Millie. ❤️

We have a long road ahead of us, and unfortunately, that road comes with a pretty significant veterinary bill. We are asking for your help to give this girl the medical care she desperately needs.
