Friends of the Burlington Library The Burlington Library Association, Inc., also known as "The Friends of the Burlington Library," is a non-profit organization in Burlington, Connecticut.

The Burlington Library Association (aka "The Friends") is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up of local volunteers who are dedicated to providing the Burlington Public Library with the financial resources it needs to serve our community. We are made up of local volunteers who believe that a strong library benefits all of us at every stage of our lives. The town budget for the Burlington Public Library primarily covers staffing, maintenance, and operations. It is not enough to cover expenses for the cultural, social, and educational activities that enrich our community. We increase funding for the library's programs and collections by hosting book sales and events, as well as, by fundraising through annual contributions from donors.

As we get ready to celebrate our 130th Birthday, we are asking members of our community to share a favorite memory they have of the BPL or just a thing or two that they love about their town library. 🙋‍♀️Hi Friends! We are raising our hand for some help from our community. We need more used books in good condition to have a successful sale this fall. It would help to have more children's books, adult non-fiction (e.g. current affairs or history) and adult fiction.

If you're able to donate, books may be dropped off at the Burlington Public Library during regular hours. As a friendly reminder, it helps immensely if donations are not bigger than bankers boxes because our volunteers need to be able to carry them. Thank you!!
