AFM Local 47 Musicians union of Los Angeles, serving professional musicians in all areas of the music industry

Members of AFM Local 47 are high-level studio musicians, signed to major and indie labels, work on major motion pictures and television, tour throughout the world, and are members of premiere orchestras and symphonies including the LA Philharmonic, LA Opera, Pasadena Symphony, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and more. The more than 6,000 members we represent — arrangers, composers, producers, contractors, engineers, and freelance musicians — are regarded as some of the very best in the world.

Thousands of AFM musicians orchestrate, prepare, and record the musical scores for film, television, and streaming projects, and its time for our government to allow us to compete for jobs in a global industry 🎬

We are proud to be in coalition with a broad range of labor unions and other stakeholders to support the Motion Picture, Television, and Entertainment Revitalization Act (MPTERA). Led by Senators Scott (R-SC) and Schiff (D-CA) and Representatives Moran (R-TX), Sanchez (D-CA), Jack (R-GA), and Friedman(D-CA), this proposal has bi-partisan support in the U.S. House and Senate.
