The composition of the Board of Directors of the Burbank Police Foundation (BPF) consists of active members of the Burbank Police Department appointed by the Burbank Chief of Police and the Burbank Police Officers' Association along with members of Burbank's residential and business communities. The Burbank Police Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organized and supported by Burbank residents, the local business community and members of the Burbank Police Department independent of The City of Burbank.

The Burbank Police Foundation is honored to recognize 6 outstanding students as the 2026 recipients of the Matthew Pavelka Scholarship.

Each recipient was awarded a $4,000 scholarship to support the next chapter of their educational journey and the goals they are working so hard to achieve.

These students were selected not only for their academic dedication, but for the character, leadership, resilience, and commitment they demonstrate within their schools and community. They represent the very qualities this scholarship was created to honor.

Established in memory of Burbank Police Officer Matthew Pavelka, the scholarship continues to honor his legacy by investing in young people who are striving to make a positive impact in the world around them.

Through the continued support of our community, the Foundation is proud to help keep Officer Pavelka’s memory alive in a meaningful and lasting way.

Congratulations to all 6 recipients. Your future is bright. We are proud of you.

Some decisions take seconds, but the consequences can last a lifetime.

Through our Arrive Alive program, we brought an important message to the junior classes at Burbank High School and Burroughs High School.

Students heard a powerful reminder about the life-altering consequences of impaired driving and the importance of making responsible choices before ever getting behind the wheel.
