Dr. King dedicated his life to the principles of equality, compassion, and service, inspiring generations to stand against injustice and work toward a more inclusive and peaceful society.

At AOJAH, we reflect on his words: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” Today, let us recommit ourselves to living by this call, serving our communities, advocating for fairness, and fostering understanding in all that we do.

AOJAH Partners to Make a Difference!

AOJAH and its community partners invite you to participate in California — Hurricane Melissa Disaster Relief for Jamaica:
“A Day of Healing & Blessing for Jamaica (Part 2).” Together we are collecting essential goods, packing relief shipments, and supporting recovery efforts in affected Jamaican parishes. Your time, donations, and volunteer support will make a meaningful and measurable difference.

Event Overview
A single-location, community-led drive for collecting, sorting, packing, and shipping donated items and monetary contributions to support Hurricane Melissa relief efforts in Jamaica. All donors are kindly asked to provide new items where possible.

Dear AOJAH Members and Supporters,

Hurricane Melissa has left unprecedented devastation and loss on the island of Jamaica, creating extreme hardship on the Jamaican community that will take several years to recover. As a humanitarian organization that has been delivering on-the-ground services to the island, the Alliance of Jamaican and American Humanitarians AOJAH is doubling its efforts to continue to deliver much-needed support services at this crucial time.

Our Board of Directors is adopting a two-pronged approach to bring essential aid to those who need it most. We have prioritized focusing our efforts on the ravaged areas of St. Ann’s Parish and the neighboring Black River region, working with our resources on the ground to identify immediate and long-term needs. Simultaneously, we will be collaborating with California-based charitable organizations, the Jamaican government, and other private entities to supplement their relief efforts.
