BackStory is happening now! Join us now at The Victory and on Zoom for a night of storytelling inspired by Father of the Bride.

Raised on the not very mean streets of Long Island, Bob coped by finding humor in life’s challenges. Surviving his first marriage, single fatherhood of four and a career in media as a suit, writer, producer, and (inexplicably) a management consultant, he chucked it to return to the stage. Bob, or Papa Robbie as he’s known to his 6 Millennial kids and 8 grandkids, believes you’re never too old to have fun. And, thanks to the offspring and a zany artist wife, he never runs out of material.

For our Father of the Bride BackStory, we are thrilled to welcome the talented to VTC tonight! Betsy Burr made her acting debut at age 9, understudying her younger brother, appearing as her father’s son in his unanimously acclaimed CORIALANUS at the Delacorte. After growing up, she’s had three careers: 1, A chef in NYC and East Hampton; 2, an actress on stage in New York until landing a dubious role on the daytime soap, Loving, (where ABC realized she could cry on cue and made her do it just about every day), then on Days Of Our Lives as America’s most hated woman; 3, She is now an esthetician making people feel and look better. She is grateful to Adele for helping her to write more good.
