They didn't start with a developer. They started with a soccer field and a prayer.

Emmanuel United Methodist Church has faithfully served San Antonio's west side for more than 50 years. An aging Hispanic congregation in a community facing real challenges. They had land. They had fewer neighbors coming through the doors. And they caught a vision for doing something significant with their property.

That vision became "Be With Us": come live with us, play with us, worship with us.

It's taken years. Three developers. Three plans. Pastor Maribel Vasquez and the trustees never stopped shepherding the vision.

And they're closer than they've ever been.

The call forward isn't about launching fast. It's about building something that lasts.

What vision is God putting on your heart that feels bigger than your timeline? Tell us below.

"QKD has been a great partner for us. Having them manage our back-office accounting has made it much easier for us to focus on our mission."

That's Joel Harris, founder of , the team helping churches across the country turn underutilized land into mission-aligned community impact.

The before? Real complexity. More than a million dollars in grant funding secured, with detailed financial reporting requirements on every dollar spent.

The after? QKD handled that reporting. Joel's team stayed focused on visioning, developer matchmaking, and guiding congregations like Emmanuel United Methodist Church through years of prayer, planning, and persistence toward Emmanuel Village.

Beyond accounting, QKD invited Handprint to present at board meetings and made valuable introductions, including a near-partnership with another QKD-connected organization.

This is the before and after. And it's what your support makes possible.

Partnering with an umbrella organization is a big decision. You should ask hard questions before you say yes.

Here are five that matter:

→ Do I keep creative and mission control?
→ What financial oversight do they actually provide?
→ How do they handle compliance, filings, and insurance?
→ What's the realistic timeline to launch?
→ Can I talk to programs already under their umbrella?

At QKD, we welcome every one of these questions. Transparency is how we operate.

We serve 20+ programs. Every leader had these same questions before they partnered with us.

What's the one question you'd want answered before partnering with anyone? Drop it below.

"I wish I knew that the third plan isn't failure — it's persistence. We're closer than we've ever been."

Joel Harris at said this about Emmanuel Village, a project that's been through three developers and three plans over years of visioning, prayer, and community conversation.

Sound familiar?

The leaders who build things that last aren't the ones who get it right the first time. They're the ones who stay in the work when the timeline doesn't match the calling.

QKD was built for leaders like Joel, carrying complex missions that need infrastructure strong enough to go the distance.

Not all heroes are known.

There's a leader in your community right now, running a ministry, launching a nonprofit, serving families, mentoring youth, who probably doesn't get told "thank you" enough.

Tell us who they are and what they're building. We'll celebrate them with you.

At QKD, we believe the work of serving the common good deserves to be seen.

Who comes to mind first?

Fall grant deadlines are closer than they feel. And the organizations that get funded aren't always the biggest, they're the most prepared.

Three things to have ready before you apply:

→ Clean, organized financials with clear reporting
→ Current 501(c)(3) status and compliance filings up to date

QKD handles these things. Fiscal sponsorship, bookkeeping, compliance, and grant-ready from day one.

secured more than a million dollars in grant funding with detailed reporting requirements on every dollar spent. QKD handled that reporting. That's what grant-ready infrastructure looks like in practice.

Thousands of churches across the country are struggling financially and sitting on land they don't know how to use.

That's the gap was built to fill.

Joel Harris and his team help churches and organizations reimagine underutilized property, evaluating feasibility, matchmaking mission-aligned developers, navigating rezoning, and guiding congregations through the visioning process. The pastor and lay leadership are the shepherds. Handprint handles the complexity.

Their flagship project? Emmanuel Village. A congregation that's faithfully served its community for 50+ years. A concept called "Be With Us", come live with us, play with us, worship with us.

It's taken years. Three developers. Three plans. And they're closer than ever.

Powered by QKD, Joel's team focuses on the mission while we handle the backend, including detailed financial reporting.

Built to last isn't built overnight. But it is built on the right foundation.

Built to last isn't just a theme, it's what we do.

20+ programs. Communities across Texas and beyond. Leaders who answered a calling and found a foundation strong enough to grow on.

The mission keeps growing. And it grows because donors, partners, and supporters believe in what we're building together.

There's a myth in nonprofit and ministry leadership that still won't die:

"If you're truly called, you should be able to do it all yourself."

Bookkeeping. Compliance. Payroll. Grant writing. Board governance. Donor management. All of it on top of the actual mission.

That's not leadership. That's survival mode.

The leaders we work with at QKD didn't get stronger by doing more alone. They got stronger when they built on infrastructure that could last, fiscal sponsorship, clean books, compliance handled, and a partner who walks alongside them.

Take Joel Harris at , his team navigates rezoning and developer matchmaking. That's not solo-founder work. That's mission work that needs a backend built to last.

Built to last isn't built alone.

Have you ever felt like you had to prove you could do it all yourself? You're not alone.
