So happy for Smithson Valley HS NJROTC. Tonight was the ribbon cutting/dedication of the new building for the JROTC and the wrestling team. Upgrades were made to other parts of athletic facilities too. They deserve this! Glad Trisha Barney and I could attend to represent the BSB Chamber and our VFW Auxiliary 12205. Congratulations to the cadets, students, and staff. It is yruly our honor to support you in your endeavors.

VFW Auxiliary 12205 invites our community to commemorate 81 years since V-J Day and honor the brave World War II veterans whose courage and sacrifice helped secure freedom.
Join fellow veterans, families, and community members on Sunday, September 20, at the Texas Military Forces Museum in Austin. This special gathering will offer an opportunity to meet World War II veterans, hear their stories, and thank them for their service.
Let us come together to ensure their legacy is always remembered. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 Remembering the End of Operation Iraqi Freedom
On August 31, 2010, Operation Iraqi Freedom officially came to an end, marking a significant chapter in our nation’s military history.
Today, VFW Auxiliary 12205 honors the brave men and women who served in Iraq and remembers those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We also recognize the military families who stood strong at home through deployments, uncertainty, and loss.
To all who served during Operation Iraqi Freedom: thank you for your courage, dedication, and sacrifice. 🇺🇸

Spending the day at our VFW Auxiliary District meeting—learning, connecting, and enjoying fellowship with our Auxiliary family. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
Congratulations to Geri, who was installed as District Junior Vice President, and Trish, who was installed as District Trustee #3, both installed by Beth West 🎉
We also draped the charter in memory of a District Auxiliary member who recently passed away—a meaningful tribute to her service and dedication.

Join us this Saturday, August 1, from 8:00–11:00 AM at the 7-Eleven at SH-46 & US-281 for our Buddy Poppy & Membership Drive!
When you accept a Buddy Poppy or make a donation, you’re helping support veterans in need right here in our community. Every contribution goes into our Post Relief Fund, which assists local veterans facing difficult times.
This is also a great opportunity to stop by, meet our members, learn about the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and discover how we’re serving veterans, their families, and our community.

Today, members of VFW Auxiliary 12205 were honored to assist with a Quilts of Valor presentation recognizing deserving veterans in our community.
Each handmade quilt represents more than warmth—it is a heartfelt expression of gratitude, honor, and appreciation for the sacrifices these brave men and women have made in service to our nation. It was a privilege to stand alongside our VFW Post 12205 and witness these meaningful moments of recognition.
To every veteran who received a Quilt of Valor: thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering dedication to our country. We are proud to serve those who have served us.

Thank you VFW Post 12205 Jr. Vice Commander J.R. James, and Auxiliary members Susan Tafolla, Sue Ho**er, and Marie James for joining me to pay tribute and honor these great veterans. In addition to the quilts given to each of the veterans, we added an America 250 Anniversary challenge coin and a star packets made from a retired U.S. flag.

Bulverde VFW Post & Auxiliary are honored to have been asked to join our local "Made with Love" group who make and present Quilts of Valor. Today these go to 15+ veterans currently residing at The Heights of Bulverde. Folks are beginning to gather and getting ready for this very special honor and ceremony.
