πŸ’™ We are incredibly grateful, humbled, and honestly a little emotional to share this. πŸ’™

Tri-State Cares has been nominated for a Community Achievement Award in the category of Community & Social Service Organization. πŸ₯Ή

When we started Tri-State Cares, our goal was simple: to make sure our seniors know they are not forgotten.

So many of the older adults we meet have spent their lives caring for others, raising families, working hard, serving their communities, and making sacrifices for the generations that came after them. And now, some of them find themselves living alone, struggling to make ends meet, or simply needing someone to remind them that they matter.

We believe they deserve to be seen. They deserve to be heard. They deserve dignity, kindness, and a helping hand. ❀️

Being nominated for this award is incredibly meaningful to usβ€”not because we do this work for recognition, but because it reminds us that our community sees the importance of caring for those who have given so much to all of us.

And the truth is, this nomination belongs to all of you.

To every person who has donated a meal, delivered groceries, answered a phone call, volunteered their time, made a referral, shared one of our posts, opened a door, or simply said, β€œHow can I help?” β€” thank you.

You have helped us turn compassion into action.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve our senior citizens, and we are even more grateful that this community continues to stand beside us.

We may be a small organization, but together, we are making a differenceβ€”one senior, one meal, one phone call, one referral, and one act of kindness at a time. πŸ’™

Thank you for believing in Tri-State Cares.
And thank you for helping us remind our seniors that they are valued, they are loved, and they are not forgotten. 🫢

πŸ’š August Update from Tri-State Cares πŸ’š

August has been our biggest referral month ever!

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, Tri-State Cares has been busy helping local seniors remain safe, healthy, and independent.

This month, we received 23 referrals and were able to make a meaningful impact in the lives of seniors throughout the Tri-State area:

βœ… 12 seniors were approved for meal delivery services while they remain on the WACOG waiting list for home-delivered meals.

βœ… We approved the installation of grab bars for a senior to help make their home safer and reduce the risk of falls.

βœ… We assisted another senior by helping pay an electric bill to prevent a utility shutoff, ensuring they could remain safe and comfortable in their home.

βœ… We paid for a prescription medication for a senior who could not afford this important expense.

βœ… We enrolled 2 seniors in our new River Watch program, providing daily check-in calls and an extra layer of support and connection.

These are just a few examples of the ways Tri-State Cares is working to meet the growing needs of our aging community. We couldn't do it without the generosity of our donors, volunteers, community partners, and supporters.

πŸ’š We've been busy giving back, and we're just getting started!

Thank you for helping us make a difference, one senior at a time.

πŸ’š July Update from Tri-State Cares πŸ’š

While we don't always get the chance to post about every person we help, we wanted to share a few of the ways your support is making a difference this month.

So far in July, Tri-State Cares has received 9 referrals and assisted 8 seniors throughout the Tri-State area:

βœ… 4 seniors were approved for meal delivery services while they remain on the WACOG waiting list for home-delivered meals.

βœ… We received a referral for a senior whose air conditioning stopped working during this extreme summer heat. We were able to purchase a portable AC unit to help keep clients safe and comfortable.

βœ… We helped another community member obtain a donated lift chair, improving mobility, comfort, and independence.

βœ… We also assisted 2 additional seniors with resources and support tailored to their individual needs.

These are just a few examples of how Tri-State Cares continues to provide food assistance, safety support, equipment, resources, and compassionate care to seniors throughout our community.

We may not always share every story, but please know that we are still out here helpingβ€”one senior at a time. πŸ’š

πŸ’š A Special Thank You to Mattress Land Furniture! πŸ’š

Tri-State Cares would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Joey Merrigan and Lisa Wegner of Mattress Land Furniture in Fort Mohave for their incredible generosity and commitment to our community.

Recently, we were contacted by a local resident whose medical condition made it difficult to lie flat, creating an urgent need for a recliner. We reached out for help, and Joey and Lisa immediately stepped up.

Not only did Mattress Land provide a recliner, they generously donated a lift chair with heat, giving this individual the comfort, support, and independence they desperately needed.

When Tri-State Cares offered to pay for the chair, their response spoke volumes about their character: "Keep the money for someone else in need."

πŸ’š That kind of generosity makes a lasting impact.

Because of community-minded businesses like Mattress Land Furniture, Tri-State Cares can continue helping local seniors facing difficult circumstances. Mattress Land is always finding ways to give back, and we are incredibly grateful for their partnership and support.

Please join us in thanking Joey Merrigan, Lisa Wegner, and the entire Mattress Land team for making a real difference in someone's life.

🏑 If you're looking for furniture, mattresses, recliners, or home furnishings, please consider supporting this outstanding local business that continually supports our community.

From all of us at Tri-State Cares, thank you for answering the call and reminding us what community is all about. πŸ’š
