Times are tough, we have had to focus on one area to TNVR since we did not receive the Arizona License plate grant this year..
Praying this is not a trend..
A HEARTBREAKING ANNOUNCEMENT!!
With heavy, shattered hearts, we have made the devastating decision to begin the process of dissolving SNARL.
The landscape of animal rescue right now is harder than it has ever been. Adoptions feel impossible. Finding viable, reliable foster homes feels impossible. Finding volunteers who can stay for the long haul feels impossible. The sheer demand for help grows every single day, while the resources, funding, and community bandwidth to meet that demand have simply run out.
Earlier this year, we announced that we were down sizing - but even with cutting our "in-care" numbers by more than half, we're still sinking.
To be completely honest, we have been fighting tooth and nail just to stay afloat ever since COVID hit. Don’t get us wrong—we have incredible, selfless people and dedicated hands who have poured their souls into keeping us alive since our incorporation in 2017. We love what we do with every fiber of our being. But the reality is that love alone cannot pay medical bills or create foster homes out of thin air. We can no longer sustain the operations required to keep up with the crisis surrounding us.
In our 9-year run, we accomplished something truly extraordinary together: we saved and adopted out more than 7,000 animals. That is 7,000 lives that mattered, 7,000 second chances, and thousands of families forever changed. We will carry immense pride in that legacy for the rest of our lives.
As of today, we still have 52 animals in our care.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:
All Intakes Are Closed: Effective immediately, SNARL will no longer accept any animals into our care. This includes SNARL alumni that have been out of our care for 3 or more months —a reality that truly breaks our hearts. When we founded this rescue, we made a lifelong commitment to stand behind every single animal we ever placed. Having to step back from that promise feels like a failure, and it hurts more than words can express, but we simply cannot keep that commitment any longer.
Our Remaining 52 Animals: Our complete focus and energy will go toward the 52 dogs and cats currently entrusted to us. We remain 100% committed to seeing each and every one of them safely placed into a viable forever home or transferred to another reputable foster-based rescue partner before we formally dissolve.
Dissolution & In-Kind Assets: Once our final animal is safe and our obligations are met, SNARL will complete its final shutdown. Any and all remaining supplies, in-kind, or monetary assets will be donated to fellow local 501(c)(3) animal rescue organizations to support their ongoing work.
HOW YOU CAN HELP US CROSS THE FINISH LINE:
Your support right now is more critical than ever. As of today, we are carrying an outstanding vet balance of just over $11,000 that urgently needs to be paid down. That figure does not include any future medical emergencies or routine care that our remaining 52 animals will need while they wait for their homes.
We will continue our fundraising efforts until our medical debt is cleared and the very last animal in our care is safely home.
