Well, here we are at the final hurrah! The last week of Vision Screening for the Bullhead City Lions Club. Then we have a well deserved rest before MEAT BINGO!
First things first, tomorrow, September 29, we will be visiting Camp Mohave Elementary.
Thursday, October 1 we will be at AOBI. For those of you who aren’t aware of what AOBI is, let me explain very briefly! It’s the Academy Of Building Industries. These students get to learn and practice a variety of skills…automotive, woodworking, and so much more!
Our job as Lions is to ensure that they learn with good vision!
Remember,if the student shows need of glasses, we refer the parents to get them to a medical professional for further testing and perhaps glasses. Can’t afford it? No problem. Your BHC Lions Club can provide financial assistance!
If you or your family hasn’t been screened, find us throughout the year at various community events where we will also be offering our totally free service!

Howdie do! Another busy week for the Bullhead City Lions Club ahead! We’re winding down our busy season for vision screening, but not before a very busy week!
Tuesday, September 22 we will be visiting Fox Creek school. Wednesday, September 23 we have two teams…one team will go to Little Treasures Child Care, and another team will be at Desert Star Preschool.
Thursday, September 24 we will be at River Valley screening CRUSHD students.
Please remember that these screenings are done by State Certified volunteers. Screenings take about ten seconds per child. If the screening indicates that a child needs to see an eye professional and the family can’t afford it, we provide financial aid!
After this week is finished, we have one school scheduled for October 1…AOBI!

Hey there fellow citizens of Fort Mohave, Mohave Valley and Bullhead City! Your Bullhead City Lions Club will be back out there vision screening this week!
Tuesday, September 15, we will be visiting Young Scholars Academy.
Wednesday, September 16, we’ll have two teams! One will be visiting Stepping Stones in Bullhead , while our second team will be at Desert Star Preschool!
Thursday, September 17, New Day Daycare in Bullhead City will be visited.
Our visit with AOBI will be postponed until October 1.
Remember, these screenings are completely free. If a student is in need of an eye professional, your Bullhead City Lions Club can provide financial assistance if needed.
Please help us to help your children…if they have glasses, please encourage the children to use them!

It’s another VISION SCREENING WEEK! Your Bullhead city Lions club will be busy screening students at three different schools this week!
We start tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8 at Mohave Valley Middle School.
Wednesday, September 9, you’ll find us at Bullhead City Middle School.
Thursday, September 10, we’ll be back in Fort Mohave at Fort Mohave Elementary School.
Remember, this is a FREE service, and entails nothing more than taking a picture of the student’s eyes! It takes less than 10 seconds and we don’t touch the student! If the screening indicates a possible issue, the parents are notified. If the parents can’t afford the eye doctor or glasses if recommended, the Bullhead City Lions club can provide financial assistance!
We screen approximately 5,000 students each year and our experience tells us that about 20% or more of our youth population need to see an eye professional.
Please help us get the word out about this wonderful service. Share this post, whether you have children in these schools or not. We are volunteers and we love what we do!

It’s a new week for Lions Vision Screening! This week we will visit two schools.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1, Lion Criste will be at. Harvest Bible with her team.
Wednesday , Lions Criste and Bonnie will go to Sunrise, where Lion Chris is Principal! Their amazing teams will be there with them!
Remember, this is NOT an eye exam, but rather, a screening. The children will sit a couple of feet from the screener, and will have a quick picture taken of their eyes. This process generally takes less than ten seconds! If it is recommended for the child to see an eye doctor, a notice will be provided to the parents/guardians. If the family cannot afford the visit to the eye doctor or the glasses, the LIONS WILL PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE!
Please share this information so that all residents are informed and ready for the screenings. If the child has glasses, he/she should wear them. We can tell if they are working!
Also, remember that some eye issues must be addressed with an eye doctor before a child is six years old. If they are not addressed in time, the sight may be permanently lost in that eye!

Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones you least expect. 🤞

When combing through Goodrington Sands in southwest England, Carol Franklin stumbled upon a wooden egg bearing a familiar symbol. After brushing off the sand, her suspicions proved correct– it was the Lions International emblem!

She took the egg home, excited to show it to her partner, Nick Legge, a member of the Clevedon Lions Club. The pair further investigated the egg's origin, soon discovering it was one of more than a dozen left undiscovered after Paignton Lions Club’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. 🔎🥚

Turns out, you can run into a Lion anywhere you go!

Lion Bonnie is back with this week’s Vision Screening schedule! Tuesday, August 25 and Wednesday, August 26, we will have a full team of Lions at Desert Star. It will be a very busy two days with lots of students to screen! Please be sure that the students have their eye glasses so we can see if they are working well!
Wednesday, August 27, Lion Criste will travel with her team to Topock, Yucca, and Mohave Daycare.
Remember, if a child needs to see an eye doctor and/or get glasses and the parents can’t afford it, we provide financial assistance! This is a totally free service for our community!
