Which option should NFTA choose?
1. Save millions $ by avoiding delay and built Metro Rail that goes around the Blvd Mall property rather than through the site. Service can start years sooner, but would not be idea for the site developers.
2. Wait until all the legal processes play out. Could take an undetermined number of years added to the project causing metro rail costs to skyrocket, but would provide the best transit solution of having the station integrated into the developer project.
3. Demand Amherst provide diagonal right-of-way through the site immediately so construction of Metro Rail can begin and tell the developers to deal with whatever NFTA builds.

Do you have a preference? These are the three options available to choose from.

🚨‼️ A Week Without Driving Begins!🚨‼️

A Week Without Driving is a national experiential learning campaign where elected officials, transportation professionals, and community members who normally drive commit to getting around without driving themselves for seven days.

Originally launched in 2021 by the Disability Mobility Initiative and expanded nationally by America Walks and the Nondrivers Alliance, the initiative asks participants to rely on walking, rolling, biking, public transit, or rides from others to complete their daily routines. The primary goal is not to shame drivers or promote a flawless car-free lifestyle, but rather to build profound empathy and firsthand awareness of the systemic infrastructure gaps, scheduling limitations, and mobility barriers that millions of non-drivers—due to age, disability, or economic circumstance—navigate every single day. By documenting these challenges, participants help advocate for more inclusive, equitable, and accessible community transportation policies.

For those who are participating please share your experience, tag BTRU page and use the hashtag for your story to placed on a national platform and viewed across the country!

The ABBG survey is back through May 10. In years past, the results of this survey have led to the following:

✍️ Started a bus shelter expansion program that installed 30 new shelters in 2023, with plans for more in the following years.
✍️ Created a task force to improve on-time performance.
✍️ Added your voice to grant applications to get needed funds into the community.
✍️ Increased cleaning on buses and trains.
