This morning we learned of the sudden and unexpected passing of an alumni pup. Athena was a special case..
Athena was dumped on the president of our rescue one day in her driveway. She literally pulled in the driveway and all of a sudden had a husky. A husky holding a big secret - a belly full of puppies.
Athena’s loss was unexpected and gut wrenching. Athena was blessed enough to have been adopted by an amazing, kind, self less, loving, beautiful soul of a human. Through her mama - Athena gained a dad and even children to call her own.
Through the years we have watched Athena grow and blossom and thrive with her family. Being able to stay in contact with and see our dogs grow and live their best lives is so important to us and dear to our hearts.
Today, we are thinking of Megan and her family while the loss of Athena is mourned and the giant hole she left in the world is felt.
Megan - you were a God sent for Athena and an amazing mama to her. We pray all of our dogs feel the love and safety you provided for Athena.
Rest easy sweet girl, until we see you again. Please give your mama signs - we know how much she misses you. 😭🌈
If you adopted a Winnie the Pooh pup please share a photo of them in the comments
