‼️Louisiana sets a dangerous precedent‼️
Louisiana HB953 is headed for a full Senate vote, where it will pass, and this is very dangerous for the citizens of Louisiana and for plumbing licenses in general.
HB953 cuts the hours to be a Journeyman plumber to 2000 and then 1500 hours to be a Master Plumber. That means that 18 months of plumbing is enough to be a Master Plumber in the State of Louisiana. That is dangerous for the citizens and dangerous for plumbing professionals. HB953 also tried to eliminate the Louisiana Plumbing Board, which was amended in the Senate, but it places 2 home builders on the Board responsible for plumbers. With minimal hour requirements to be a plumber, and home builders monitoring plumbing licenses, the result will be lower wages, and unqualified plumbers.
This is why it is critical to stay engaged. It doesn't make much to eliminate the value of a license.
