Today, we celebrate and honor the life of our Noah. Today would be his 20th birthday. Although our hearts will forever ache for the time we didn't get with him, we are so incredibly proud of the legacy Noah has left behind. Through the Forever 15 Project, we get to share his story, educate students and families about the dangers of fentanyl, and hopefully save lives. We wish more than anything that Noah was here, but we will continue to make sure his life matters, his story is heard, and his name is never forgotten. Noah, you may have been taken from us at 15, but your impact continues to grow. Because of you, conversations are happening, lives are being touched, and people are learning things that could one day save someone they love. We would give anything to have you here celebrating 20 with us, but until we see you again, we will keep doing everything we can to honor you.
Happy 20th Birthday in Heaven, baby boy. We love you beyond words, miss you more than you could ever know, and carry you with us in everything we do ❤️

MEET OUR 2026 EDT CONFERENCE SPEAKERS: JODY HEAVILIN & FOREVER 15 PROJECT

What happens when prevention, education, lived experience, and action come together?

At the 5th Annual Tall Cop Emerging Drug Trends Conference, we’re bringing together voices who are working every day to help communities recognize the risks, understand the data, and take action.

We’re proud to welcome back Jody Heavilin, a nationally recognized prevention professional with more than 30 years of experience in substance use prevention, intervention, and treatment. Jody has led community coalitions, developed environmental prevention strategies, trained more than 500 law enforcement officers, and helped communities use data and policy to create measurable change.

Her work has included a 64% reduction in 12th graders who self-reported drinking and driving through a county-wide Strategic Prevention Framework initiative. Jody has also been recognized with two Illinois MADD Hero of the Year Awards and the 2022 Illinois Prevention Leadership Award.

We’ll also hear from Janel Rodriguez and the Forever 15 Project, founded after Janel experienced the devastating loss of her 15-year-old son, Noah, to fentanyl poisoning in 2022.

Since then, the Forever 15 Project has worked tirelessly across the country to share Noah’s story and raise awareness about the fentanyl crisis. Their message brings a powerful perspective to the conversation one rooted in lived experience, education, and the urgent need for communities to understand what is happening.

Two perspectives. One shared mission: education that can save lives.

Look who I ran into today… JOSIAH!!! 🥹❤️

If you've heard my presentation, then you know exactly who Josiah is and just how special this moment was for me.

There is nothing that makes me prouder than seeing these kids I’ve met along the way, kids who once felt like they had no hope, no direction, or no future, grow, change, and THRIVE. Getting to see them out here living life, making good choices, and becoming the person they were always capable of being is one of the greatest rewards of what we do.

This is why we keep showing up. This is why we refuse to give up on these kids.

Josiah, seeing you today made my whole heart happy. I am SO proud of you, young man! Keep going. Your story isn't over!
