💙 March is National Kidney Awareness Month 💙
The Southern Maryland Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is launching a video series and social media campaign to raise awareness about Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and its impact on the African American community.
African Americans are nearly 4x more likely to experience kidney failure, and many people don’t know they have kidney disease until it reaches an advanced stage.
🎥 Throughout March, our videos will feature:
👩🏽‍⚕️ Medical experts discussing risk factors, prevention, and early detection
🗣️ Community leaders elevating the conversation about kidney health
💬 Personal stories about how CKD impacts families
🥗 Nutritious, kidney-friendly recipes
🏃🏾‍♀️ Fitness and wellness tips to support healthier lifestyles
Our goal is to educate, empower, and encourage early screening so our community can take proactive steps toward better kidney health.
📲 Follow, watch, and share to help spread awareness.
📍 Join us March 21, 2026 | 1–4 PM
at the Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf, MD for the Black Family Wellness Expo. All are welcome!
