⚠️ Pack 423 Update ⚠️

Due to the threat of severe weather, tonight's Charles County Dive Rescue event has been canceled.

The safety of our Scouts, families, and our community partners is our highest priority. Please stay safe and take precautions as the weather moves through our area.

We are working with the Charles County Dive Rescue Team to reschedule this event for sometime in September. As soon as a new date is confirmed, we'll share the details by email and on our page.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the rescheduled event. Stay safe, Pack 423! ⚜️

🎆 This Independence Day is especially meaningful as we celebrate not only the founding of our nation, but also America’s 250th Birthday — honoring 250 years of freedom, courage, service, and unity. 🎇

As Cub Scouts, our Scouts strive every day to live by the values found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law — to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. ⚜️🇺🇸

Those values reflect the very spirit that built our nation and continues to strengthen our communities today. 🦅❤️🤍💙

At Pack 423, we are proud to help guide the next generation of leaders, citizens, and patriots who understand the importance of service, respect, responsibility, and love of country. ⚜️⛺🇺🇸

Happy Father’s Day from Pack 423! 🇺🇸⚜️

Today we celebrate all of the incredible dads, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures who help make Scouting such a meaningful adventure for our youth.

Thank you for the campfires, Pinewood Derby builds, hikes, laughs, encouragement, life lessons, and countless memories you create alongside your Scouts. Your leadership, patience, and support help shape confident, respectful, and capable young people every single day.

Pack 423 is grateful for all you do behind the scenes and out on the trail. We hope your day is filled with family, fun, and appreciation for the impact you make.

🔥🚒 Pack 423 had an AMAZING night at the Bryans Road Volunteer Fire Department! 🚒🔥

Our Scouts got an up-close look at what firefighters do every day to keep our community safe. We toured the firehouse, checked out the different fire trucks and equipment, learned important fire safety tips, and witnessed an INCREDIBLE live fire demonstration that had everyone’s attention! The heat, smoke, and flames made it very real and showed just how quickly fires can spread.

The Scouts also got to tackle a firefighter-style obstacle course and finished by putting out a “fire” with a real water hose — definitely a highlight of the night! 💦🔥

A huge THANK YOU to the firefighters and staff at the Bryans Road Volunteer Fire Department for taking the time to teach, encourage, and inspire our Scouts. Your patience, professionalism, and passion for serving the community made this an unforgettable experience for our families.
Tonight was packed with learning, teamwork, laughter, and excitement — exactly what Scouting is all about.

Scout Spotlight: Service Above Self

Congratulations to Scouts Jason Falkler and Nicholas Falkler on earning First Place at the local level in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) Junior American Citizens Contest.

As part of their award-winning community service project, Jason and Nicholas demonstrated what it means to live the Scout Oath and Law through service to others.

During a period when many local families were experiencing hardship due to the government shutdown, the brothers helped lead food collection efforts through their Scout unit and community partners. Together, they:

• Collected and organized more than 800 pounds of food for local food banks and community assistance programs

• Helped stock a local community refrigerator with essential food items

• Assisted the American Legion food drive supporting veterans, military families, government employees, and others in need

• Unloaded trucks, sorted donations, packed food bags, and distributed meals and Thanksgiving supplies to families

• Continued organizing future food drives to expand support throughout the community

Their efforts exemplify the values of citizenship, leadership, and service that Scouting seeks to instill in every young person.

Please join us in congratulating Jason and Nicholas for their outstanding commitment to helping others and for representing our community so well.

"Helping other people at all times" is more than a Scout slogan—it's a way of life.
