We had an amazing time at our inaugural Senior Banquet last night! 🎓✨

We celebrated four incredible graduating seniors — Logan, Sydney, Madison, and Addison — and were honored to award each of them a First Tee scholarship made possible through the memorial donations of Mike Balsley. His legacy continues to invest in the youth and future of the Golden Isles, and we are so grateful.

We are beyond proud of these students and so excited to have a front row seat to all they are going to do and become. Your futures are bright, and this is only the beginning.

🎓✨ Senior Spotlight

Logan started as a participant at an early age, and into his high school years, became an active Junior Coach with a passion for investing in our youth! He has always been the first to sign up for our community programs, and always the last at programming helping clean up. He even brings his own curated playlist and speaker to keep the energy up during the long hot summer days! His coaches describe him as "the quiet go getter, he never complains, first to see what needs to be done and quietly does it without any desire for recognition." We are excited to see all Logan does post graduation!

Growing up in the Golden Isles, Addison Seban discovered golf alongside her grandfather—time that quickly became some of her most cherished memories. His encouragement sparked a passion that led her to First Tee – Golden Isles, where she developed both her game and her confidence.

Addison made history as the first Evans Scholar from Frederica Golf Club on St. Simons Island, an incredible milestone in her journey.

Madison started in our program at 5-6 years old and has become an avid junior coach and Participant Ambassador Council member.

"First Tee has taught me many lessons from being a student to being a coach. At the beginning of every class, the coaches start with 3 key words we will focus on throughout the class. Often words like: Courage, Teamwork, Honesty, etc. One thing I have learned from First Tee is that golf is not just a sport, but it is a way to build relationships and build yourself. Golf is a game you can play your entire life; it's a sport like no other. As a coach and teaching the students about being honest and having fun also reminds me of the importance of applying this to my daily life."

From her very first swing at just 9 years old, Sydney’s journey with First Tee has been nothing short of inspiring. What began with junior clinics and PGA League participation quickly grew into a passion that would shape her future.

Through dedication, hard work, and a love for the game, Sydney has earned a scholarship to play collegiate golf—an achievement her younger self could have only dreamed of.

But her story goes far beyond the course. Sydney shares that First Tee has played a pivotal role not only in her golf career, but in shaping her values, character, and confidence. The lessons she’s learned will stay with her long after she tees off at the collegiate level.

As she looks ahead to this exciting next chapter, Sydney remains committed to giving back—continuing her journey with First Tee and returning to volunteer for the program that has supported her every step of the way.
