Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens

Two blocks from Brooklyn College, a 96-year-old house is becoming a second home for Catholic students.

The revived Brooklyn College Newman Center now offers Mass twice a week, Bible study, and a chapel open for prayer. Helping young people grow in faith at every stage of life is at the heart of what the Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens supports, and it's a joy to see that mission alive on campus.

When Young Catholic Professionals Brooklyn launched in May, 400 people showed up. Four months later, organizers say many of those young Catholics are sticking around.

The Diocese of Brooklyn chapter, created for Catholics in their 20s and 30s, is building a community around something its leaders saw a need for: a consistent place to connect with other young professionals who share their faith.

Lauren gives her time and heart every day to the families we serve, and the Fair itself supports the same cause: proceeds go directly to Catholic education in Brooklyn and Queens.

Read The Tablet's coverage of the day:

The Great Irish Fair 45th was held at Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Brooklyn. Previously, the event was eld at various sites on Coney Island.
