Delivery 20,000 + 1

Last night, we closed up for the holiday after making 20,000 unique food deliveries to families in need this High Holiday season. Today, a small crew came in just to clean up.

Then we got a call from Council Member ’s office about an elderly New Yorker who had lost access to SNAP aka and urgently needed food.

So we packed one more emergency delivery and sent it out.

Because emergencies don’t always follow the calendar.

The banner in this photo carries words from the Book of Isaiah that are read in synagogue on Yom Kippur:

“Share your bread with the hungry, bring the poor into your home… and do not turn away from those in need.”

Years later, those words remain the mission of Masbia.

As Yom Kippur approaches, families across New York are turning to Masbia for help putting food on the table. Please help us answer Isaiah’s call with action, give Tzedakah and sponsor food for a family in need this High Holiday season.
