The mission of the Lions organization is to empower clubs, volunteers, an partner to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities, an support those in need through humanitarian services and grants that impact lives globally, and encourage peace and international understanding. HOW WE DO IT:
*Club networking luncheon with an educational presentation on the 1t and 3rd Mo

ndays of each month
*Periodic social events just for fund
*Raising community awareness through a spaghetti feed & pie auction, SDSU ice cream booth at the Brookings Summer Arts Festival and ushering at SDSU basketball games. Financial support is possible to sponsor eye exams, eyeglasses, hearing aids for individuals in need. VISION & HEARINGS:
*KidsSight vision screening & screening support for children: www.lionskidsightusa.org/
*Collect used eyeglasses and hearing aids for redistribution to third world countries. YOUTH:
*Once each quarter recognize Middle School Student for their outstanding citizenship
HUNGER:
*Support the SDSU food Fight during the Summit League
ENVIRONMENT:
Established green space & we continue to support Our Lions Park at 1st Street and Medary Avenue

Free Will Donation pulled pork meal for the Volga Area Optimist Club!

Hey friends and community! We’re gearing up for a delicious free will donation meal to support the youth of the community! Come join us for tender pulled pork, crunchy chips, refreshing water, and our special homemade treats — all made with love.

Whether you can give a little, a lot, or just enjoy the food and good vibes, your presence helps us continue supporting the youngest of our community.

When: Saturday, June 13th
Time: 11am-2pm or when we run out!
Where: Volga City Park

Come hungry and ready to connect! Bring your family, friends, and neighbors and help make our community even better!

Donna Thomas received a 'Tiggerism Award' for co-chairing Mental Health Week with Alyce Schiferl. We had an inspirational talk on Su***de by Pastor Keith Kraft and Deb Kraft. We also had a "Walk of Life" in the City Park. Great Job!

How Do Lions and JackRabbits work together?! The members of the Brookings Lions Club, with assistance from spouses and a few other Lions Clubs, will serve as ushers at 16 SDSU home Basketball Games this season. 8 ushers are needed at each game. Pictured are Lion Paul Fixen and his wife Nancy.

So….the answer is ….Lions and JackRabbits work very well together at South Dakota State University
