As teenagers become more independent, some try to hide digital activities or substance use from their parents. Hear from Elmbrook's School Resource Officers (SROs) about some of the ways students hide risky behavior.

Learn about apps that can hide photos, messages and social media from parents.

Learn how substance use can be hidden, especially when it comes to va**ng. Despite age restrictions, va**ng devices can be purchased online or at local stores, and can be disguised to look like USB drives, highlighters or hoodie drawstrings. Learn about the impact of va**ng, what va**ng devices look like, and what school policy is regarding va**ng.

Learn about the common warning signs that SROs are watching for, in an effort to help and support students.

About the Speakers:
Elmbrook School Resource Officers are experienced law enforcement professionals from the Brookfield and Elm Grove Police Departments stationed in Elmbrook Schools to ensure safety and build positive relationships. The program places officers in high schools, middle schools and elementary schools to support, mentor and protect students and staff. Meet all six SROs at this event.

On Tuesday, Oct. 20, USM will offer their third annual Parent University. This event, is open to the community and is an opportunity to learn from experts both in and outside of USM on topics such as parenting, education, and the college application process. . After an evening of learning, we hope you will stay for a reception.

We invites families of secondary students to an upcoming presentation with Elmbrook’s School Resource Officers, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬.

The program will give families a closer look at issues, trends and situations today’s teenagers may encounter, along with information to help parents better understand and support their children.

Looking for a fun, easy way to rack up volunteer hours for Key Club, NHS, or college applications? The Elmbrook Parent Network needs high school volunteers to help manage childcare for elementary students while their parents attend an evening speaker event!

Date: Tuesday, September 22
Time: 6:15 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Burleigh Elementary School

What you'll do: Hang out with awesome Elmbrook elementary kids, lead games, and help keep activities running smoothly.
We need at least 10 volunteers for this first event (more are always welcome, so bring a friend!).
