Friends - Please take a couple minutes to fill out this simple survey from SEMCOG about flooding and resiliency. This is open to everyone (so share widely) and your feedback is important since a task force is developing a Flooding & Resilience Plan for Southeast MI to guide local communities on the best ways of preventing and responding to flood events. Do it now since the deadline is August 11th.

Our first choice is to keep our wetlands intact and respect our river floodplains, but hey that's just us. ๐Ÿ˜

Thank you, The Livingston Daily Press & Argus, for the much appreciated article about us! We are really proud of what we've accomplished as an all volunteer nonprofit and are especially grateful to the landowners who have protected their land for the benefit of the community.

There are a couple points of fact we want to correct:
* The Charles & Albert Parker Families Nature Preserve (featured in one of the photos) is actually owned by the Brighton District Library, while we hold a conservation easement to guarantee its permanent protection.
* The nature preserves (that we own) are held for the public trust but not all of them are accessible. Several have ecosystems that are highly sensitive or are difficult to access due to the landscape or design of the property boundaries. However, there are 3 protected properties that have trails for public use - Kellogg Family Nature Preserve in Howell, the Red Cedar Run Nature Preserve in Fowlerville, and the Charles & Albert Parker Families Nature Preserve in Brighton.

Check our website for more details! livingstonlandconservancy.org

The Livingston Land Conservancy, a volunteer-run nonprofit, has protected roughly 800 acres across 19 properties since the organization's inception โ€” and hopes to reach 1,000 acres by 2027. See link below โฌ‡๏ธ
