WHAT is a Paddle Auction?????

Basically, at a paddle auction, everyone has a paddle. There are many items available to bid on. An item is announced, paddles are raised, and the winning number is drawn - and you get that prize!

You have a couple choices for your ticket. You can buy a ticket the includes dinner and an "all in" paddle. Your paddle can be raised for every single item that is available, if you like.

OR you buy your ticket and get a paddle and bring or purchase QUARTERS! Each item has a quarter value. You drop quarters in the bucket for the items you want a chance at --- and hold up your paddle!

We are looking for some volunteers! Thank you to those of you who have stepped up at this point! We need some volunteers who can pick up groceries from the Northville Trader Joe's store once a month. This task requires a van, SUV or truck (we do have a van that can be used) and the ability to arrive at Trader Joe's in Northville by 10 AM, load the truck with donated food and bring the food to the Torch 180 building. You also need to be able to lift heavy boxes.

Hey there, Family - it's Friday! It's National Paper Clip Day - which is kindof weird, but I can never find one when I need it, so I thought I would shout the day out!

National Paperclip Day on May 29 celebrates a small but handy invention. Yes, even the paperclip has its own day of honor. This quirky National Day celebrates the well-known piece of curved wire that keeps our papers together and helps us stay organized.

Saturday, October 03 - at 6:00 PM! We will be holding our Paddle Auction fundraiser to raise funds primarily to purchase groceries! Remember. We are all volunteers, and our food is always free - no strings attached - no humiliating questions - no suspicions about motives behind people needing groceries. It's going to be a fun night filled with good people!

Good Morning on a very thankful Thursday! We are getting so organized around here. I am appreciating our new board member, Hannah, and all her efforts to get us organized so we can keep track of all the things! We have been so blessed with such amazing people through the years!

We are looking for a few more people to round out our Torch board of directors. Our next meeting is Monday, June 22 at 6 PM at the Torch 180 building - 131 Mill St., Fowlerville, MI. Our meetings are always open to anyone to check us out.
