One of TCWD's highlights of this spring 🌸

TCWD Community Engagement Manager, Sarah Kane, attended the SkillsUSA Tennessee State Leadership and Skills Conference in Chattanooga! This annual event brings together career and technical education students, advisors, and industry partners for hands-on competitions, leadership development, and career exploration.

Throughout the conference, TCWD engaged with students exploring healthcare pathways, as well as educators working to expand opportunities in their programs. Conversations centered on strengthening partnerships between education and healthcare, increasing student exposure to careers, and supporting local pathway development.

As Volunteer Appreciation Month comes to a close, we want to thank the volunteers who go the extra mile for Tennesseans. Volunteers play a vital role in enhancing the care hospitals and clinics provide to patients — offering compassion, support, and connection when it matters most. Because of you, care goes beyond treatment.

Thank you for your commitment to building healthier communities across our state. Here are just a few of the incredible volunteers making a difference!

Kim Palmiter, Senior Director, and Sarah Kane, Community Engagement Manager, from our team recently attended the HOSA State Leadership Conference, joining nearly 4,000 students from across Tennessee!

Students explored healthcare careers, participated in leadership workshops, and many of them put their skills to the test during our “Build-a-Skeleton” race.

We’re always excited to be part of this event and to hear about the healthcare career dreams and goals students are working toward. The future of healthcare is bright! ✨
