On Tuesday night, the Lisa Ross Parker Foundation sponsored our annual Christmas party for the patients on the Myleosuppression Unit at Vanderbilt Medical Center. This is the inpatient floor for all patients who are undergoing treatment for blood-related cancers. We've sponsored this party for over 20 years and each year, it's more special. We provided BBQ, gift bags for each patient and the best music you can find in Music City! It was a very special night. Big thanks go to our band! Pam Gadd Susan Charnley, Terri Corker and Katie Brooks. You all were amazing! Also big thanks to our board and volunteers that support every year! Paige Turner, Beth Vincent, Tammy Ruff, Keri Davenport, Rachel Gwinn, Debra Fish and Carol McCullough! Y'all are the best! Also, we couldn't do this without the support of Sherri White and her staff at Vanderbilt! They do such a wonderful job taking care of the patients and their families. It was such a special night with a very special group of patients and their families.

We're thrilled to announce a grant to PAUL's Clinic in McMinnville! They do a wonderful job with vet services in that area and we love supporting them. With our grant, they have purchased 4 pulse oximeters. Villa Mitchell, Director of the clinic said: "The ones we have been using are old and were becoming a little unreliable. These will make it much easier to monitor the pets from prep through recovery".

We appreciate all of our animal welfare partners!

The Lisa Ross Parker Foundation is excited to announce the winner of the 2025 Lisa Ross Parker Memorial Scholarship! This annual scholarship is given to a graduating senior from Adamsville High School (TN) whose family has been touched by cancer. This years winner is Laina McGee! She will be heading to the University of North Alabama to study psychology. This is the 20th year this scholarship has been presented. We were blessed to have Juna Pettit, Lisa's best friend, present the award Tuesday night at the AHS Awards Night. We wish you the best of luck Laina!

We had a wonderful night on Thursday hosting a Christmas party for the patients and staff on the Myleosuppression Unit at Vanderbilt Medical Center! This is the unit where patients with blood cancers have to stay for long periods of time. We took dinner, gift bags for all 36 patients and the some of the best Christmas music you've ever heard! Big thanks go out to Pam Gadd for putting an amazing back together. Along with Pam, we are so grateful to Kathy Kuhn, Susan Charnley, Glenda Goodin, and Cindy Finkle. They were amazing! We'd also like to thank our wonderful board and volunteers who helped so much especially Beth Vincent, Tammy Ruff, Lisa Zimmerman, Keri Davenport, Stacy Langley and Rachel Gwinn. And a big thank you to Sherri White who manages the floor and is a wonderful advocate for those patients!

The Lisa Ross Parker Foundation is thrilled to finally complete the mural project on the Myleosuppression Unit (blood-related cancer unit) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center! This has been in the works for over four years! The pandemic stopped outside visitors on the floor about the time we were ready to start in 2020. The two new murals turned out amazing! One of the murals is in the hallway so patients can see it everyday. The other is in the physical therapy room where they work out with their therapists. We'd like to thank Rocky and Nancy Walters who also helped raise funds for this project in memory of their daughter, Karras, who was a patient on the floor like Lisa was.

Big thanks to Kim Radford (www.kimradfordart.com) for all of the gorgeous artwork!

The Lisa Ross Parker Foundation is pleased to announce a grant to Safe Haven Animal Rescue Program, "SHARP", that is a 501 (c)(3) organization, and is foster-based. SHARP uses a low cost vet clinic that takes their spay/neuter vouchers for cats and dogs, in neighboring Bradley County. There is a great need for spay/neuter services in this county, where there is no animal shelter or animal control, and many dogs are free-roaming.

SHARP currently has residents in Polk County on their waiting list who are willing to get their animals fixed, but they needed more funding to help these animals. They reached out to us and we were happy to help!

We love supporting organizations like this in Tennessee!

We're excited to announce a grant to Pawster Nashville! Pawster’s mission is to support people during times of crisis by providing compassionate, temporary care for their pets.

When pet owners are in crisis, Pawster is able to house their dog or cat in a loving foster home until the owner is back on their feet. A crisis can be hospitalization, loss of housing, domestic violence, addiction treatment, incarceration, or any other event that leaves a pet owner temporarily unable to care for their beloved pet.

With our grant, they will be providing comprehensive veterinary care for the dogs and cats in their foster care.

They do a wonderful job in a much needed area of animal rescue!
