You're never alone with the Ruby Fund! ❤️
When severe flooding hit Hamilton County in Indiana, Erika DeMoss, Kappa Kappa (Ball State U) and her family had to evacuate their home without warning, leaving with their four young children and two dogs.

Their home sustained significant damage, and they were advised they would need to be displaced for at least six months while repairs were underway.

To make matters even more difficult, Erika's SUV was totaled in the flooding, adding another unexpected financial burden as her family worked to find stability.

Through the Ruby Fund, Erika received support to help cover essential needs, including utilities, groceries, clothing for her children and everyday household items as her family began to recover.

For Phyllis Austin, Nu Lambda (U of Southern California), donating appreciated stock was a meaningful way to fully fund a scholarship while making a smart financial decision. By giving stock directly from her brokerage account, Phyllis was able to put its appreciated value toward a cause she cares about without first selling the shares and incurring capital gains taxes. ❤️

“Donating appreciated stock can be a tax-efficient way to give and may allow you to make a larger contribution than you might otherwise consider,” Phyllis shared. “It is worth discussing with your financial or tax advisor to determine whether it is the right approach for you.”

Phyllis found the process manageable with a little coordination between the AOII Foundation and her brokerage firm. Tami Baddeley, Upsilon (U of Washington), knows that giving back is one way to make a meaningful difference in the organization that will always hold a special place in her heart. ❤️

Through Microsoft’s GIVE program, Tami found an easy way to amplify her support for AOII through an employee matching gift program. With just one click, she was able to make her personal gift go even further, turning an already meaningful contribution into an even greater impact for our sisterhood.

For Tami, supporting AOII is about more than a financial gift. It’s about making the most of every opportunity to give back to an organization she loves while continuing to invest in its future. She sees how her time volunteering and her financial contributions work together to strengthen the Fraternity and support its mission.

When everything changes overnight, having a sisterhood to lean on can change everything!

A sister and her family lost their home in the 2025 Eaton Canyon Fire. As they worked through the challenges of finding housing, navigating insurance, and replacing what they lost, the financial strain also affected the sister's college experience, including whether she could stay in school.

Thanks to the Ruby Fund, she received the support she needed during this tough time and making it possible for her to stay in school.

We’re proud to celebrate Lilianna Eppers, Xi Omicron (University of Arkansas), recipient of the Charlene M. Favre Scholarship, established to support women from Louisiana as they pursue their educational goals! 💖

Lilianna is working toward becoming a Physician Assistant specializing in emergency medicine, a career path that represents both a new chapter for her family and a commitment to caring for others with compassion and skill.

“This scholarship feels like someone saying, ‘You’re capable. Keep going!’ Your generosity directly supports my ability to continue my education with confidence and purpose. It brings me one step closer to serving patients with compassion, skill, and integrity; the kind of PA I aspire to be.”
