Steeped in culture and heritage, the Town of Breckenridge is filled with creative and adventurous people enjoying a vibrant lifestyle. Breckenridge provides a unique mix of artistic and creative opportunities for people of all ages and interests. Through visual and performing arts, cultural heritage, craft education, culinary and healing arts, design, film and writing, the community offers a scenic mountain environment with diverse opportunities for individual self-expression and creativity. At the core of the Breckenridge creative community are a number of long-standing cultural organizations, including: Breckenridge Backstage Theatre, Breckenridge Film Festival, Breckenridge Heritage Alliance, Breckenridge Music Festival, and National Repertory Orchestra. Established in 2014, Breckenridge Creative Arts (Breck Create) was developed by the Town of Breckenridge to support and promote arts, culture, and creative experiences throughout Breckenridge. This division of town government, which will branch off to become its own multidisciplinary nonprofit organization in 2015, is responsible for the successful management of a series of programs, facilities, and partnerships that collectively animate and populate a cultural corridor in the heart of downtown Breckenridge. From quality performing and visual arts to the development of one of the region’s newest arts districts, Breck Create is a transformative force for Breckenridge and the greater Summit County community.

Día de los Mu***os + Latin Festival returns to the Breckenridge Arts District for a weekend honoring those who came before us, and celebrating the culture that carries their stories forward.

Two days of Día de los Mu***os: large-scale installations and community altars with and , Azteca performances, Catrinas, hands-on art making, a Latin Market, and live music and food from across the region, then Saturday night keeps it going with Latin Dance Night: traditional and contemporary dance, an interactive class, and live music into the evening.

"Inside of us is the knowledge of our ancestors." Come honor that together.

¡Las flores de cempasúchil inundarán el Distrito de las Artes este fin de semana! 🧡

El Día de los Mu***os + Festival Latino regresa al Distrito de las Artes de Breckenridge para un fin de semana dedicado a honrar a quienes nos precedieron, y a celebrar la cultura que mantiene vivas sus historias.

Dos días de Día de Mu***os: instalaciones a gran escala y altares comunitarios con y , presentaciones de danza Azteca, Catrinas, creación de arte práctico, un Mercado Latino, y música en vivo y comida de toda la región. Luego, el sábado por la noche, continúa la celebración con la Noche de Baile Latino: danza tradicional y contemporánea, una clase interactiva, y música en vivo hasta la noche.

Grupo Huitzilopochtli, led by fifth-generation danzante Capitán Raúl Chávez, brings a Día de Mu***os performance rooted in Aztec mythology: a warrior’s journey to Mictlán, the land of the dead.

In one week, Breckenridge gathers to remember. ✨

Día de los Mu***os is a time to honor loved ones and celebrate the connections that carry their stories forward. On October 16 and 17, the Arts District comes alive with candlelight, ofrendas, Azteca dancers, Catrinas and a dance floor that stays full all night.

It’s also a celebration of the creativity and traditions of Summit County’s Hispanic and Latin communities, whose stories make this place richer.

Start Friday evening with the candlelight vigil at Blue River Plaza. Spend Saturday at the Latin Market, hands-on craft workshops, Azteca ceremonies with + and the Catrinas Runway, then dance it out at Latin Dance Night at the Riverwalk Center.

Dentro de una semana, Breckenridge se reúne para recordar. ✨

El Día de los Mu***os es un momento para honrar a nuestros seres queridos y celebrar los lazos que mantienen vivas sus historias. El 16 y 17 de octubre, el Distrito de las Artes se llena de vida con velas, ofrendas con + , danzantes aztecas, Catrinas y una pista de baile que no se vacía en toda la noche.

También es una celebración de la creatividad y las tradiciones de las comunidades hispanas y latinas del Condado de Summit, cuyas historias enriquecen este lugar.

Comienza el viernes por la tarde con la Vigilia a la Luz de las Velas en la Plaza Blue River. Pasa el sábado en el Mercado Latino, los talleres de manualidades, las ceremonias aztecas y el Desfile de Catrinas, y termina bailando en la Noche de Baile Latino en el Centro Riverwalk.

Meet Cal Duran ✨

Cal is a Q***r, Two Spirit, Indigenous, mixed blood, Latine, Manito, Mestizo, Chicane, Indian artist and educator from Colorado. For Cal, art is a portal to his ancestors, the artisans, star-makers and dream-weavers who paved the way.

His work has filled rooms at Meow Wolf Denver , the Denver Art Museum and the Denver Botanic Gardens . This year, he and Val Ponce Najera bring the Portal of Remembrance + Ancestor Arch to Blue River Plaza. 🕯️

Learn salsa's signature footwork and passionate style while celebrating Hispanic heritage through music and movement, then join the final live class at Riverwalk Stage during our Latin Dance Night Celebration on October 17.

this Sunday Oct 4, from 10am to 1pm for Cold-Process Soapmaking on the Arts District campus. You'll learn how to turn nourishing oils into handmade soap and use natural colorants like turmeric to create gorgeous swirls and patterns.
